So you plan to eat the exact same thing every day? From my experience, that lack of variety is what can lead to cheat meals.
Yes sir, i have been for a couple weeks now
Hey, if you can do it, then that’s awesome. I always needed more options.
Why are you eating no fruits or veggies?
Hold up… 334 grams of protein a day? And 144 of that coming from Protein Shakes?
DAWG I’m 190 and I barely get 100-120. I’m sure .8-1g per lb is adequate, and you can send most of those calories to carbs.
Maybe instead of drinking 144g of protein from protein shakes, get it from food sources like milk, yogurt, more PB&J, etc. If you wanna go GOMAD that’s 128g fats, 128g protein, and 208g carbs. I always had the shits though.
And definitely add more fruits and vegetables. Dried fruit is mad convenient for on the go, and you’ll need that fiber with all that protein. I would also consume a lb of vegetables through out the day - a bag of peas is 20g of protein right there.
WAY too high on the protein.
Total Calories: 16 times bodyweight to start
Protein: 1g/lb
Fats and Carbs: the rest, by preference
As was mentioned, bulking will be more successful with a healthy diet. That means whole food sources including plenty of vegetables.
Hi, can I ask please what book do you have here? I´m from germany and we don´t have books like this but maybe I can buy it on amazon.com? thanks a lot for your help
Yea it’s mostly the convenient thing I’m after, with shakes I can pack them and go, I’m sure I can find something with fruit that equals the same in calories as 4 servings of the whey
I like fruit, would canned mix fruit without syrup work
Thanks
I am more just curious why you aren’t eating them.
I think fresh would be ideal, but I’m sure canned fruit in its own juice would be good too.
Picking up some kitchen skills wouldn’t hurt your bulk at all, and would make things a lot less boring. This way you can at least do basic stuff like cut up fruit and vegetables, fry up some eggs, make pasta, etc.
Whey protein is convenient as hell, but I’d hate to try to gut that much protein.
Yea I worry about body fat when upping carb intake, I know timing is everything, I eat the oatmeal right when I wake up after sleeping 7-8 hours, and I’ll eat one sandwich with the bread before leaving for the gym and the pb and j immediately after my workout before leaving the gym, guess it wouldn’t hurt to down some fruit too at that time while my insulin sensitivity is jacked up
Timing is minimally important. Just focus on total intake.
Carbs are your friend when you’re bulking. All that excess protein will probably be turned into glucose anyway.
Though you didn’t answer my last question, if you want to consume lower carbs check out Jon Andersen’s Deep Water nutritional guidelines. It’s based on protein and fat consumption with very little carbs.
It’s from a fitness log I got off another site
Lol yea bro it’s funny you say that, I’m actually a line cook at a busy restaurant, I just got burnt out from cooking, I cook for 300+ people some days and when I’m away from work I dont even want to look at a kitchen, i use canned chicken breast and packaged turkey deli meat, the only thing I actually cook with this plan is the burger steak and eggs, and I dont even like doing that
Thanks man I’ll give it a look, I have trouble dieting down to 10% body fat so I started trying to bulk at about 12-13% BF and gain some more muscle for extra metabolism when I try to diet down again, I do work in a kitchen and its hell when I’m dieting, I know I need to focus more on my discipline
