This has probably been covered before but why not come back to it. I’ve recent;y (past 2-3 months) really started trying to get my diet in check. As I’m doing it I’m realizing some things are easier to give up then others, while some things I won’t ever give up; just cut down…way down, lol. So instead of one food I thought maybe one drink, meal, and snack that you HAVE to have sometimes.
Drink: Beer, good beer, usually imported.
Meal: Fat burger with smoked bacon and chedder cheese and a side of fries cooked in old oil.
Dessert: Chocolate, good stuff or a snickers, doesn’t matter sometimes.
Obviously I’ve started cutting way back on this stuff, but every now and then it really hits the spot.
So, what are some of the top cheats here on T-Muscle?
A burger can be placed strategically in almost any reasonable diet, unless you are 6 weeks out from a contest, avoiding them alltogether is just going too far.
French fries, French fries, French fries… and maybe chicken strips. But not McDonalds or fast food styles but the McCain ones you can deep fry at home. When I’m granted cheat meals, my trainer tells me to stick to fats and carbs, no sugar or ice cream… but I will end up getting some chocolate (Skor bars are my absolute favorite!) and toffee glazed peanuts from the bulk aisle at Safeway.
While I’m already in Safeway, I’ll head over to the bakery section and get a few of the jumbo gourmet cookies.
I can’t eat a lot when I cheat… small portions and I’m stuffed…

I never thought a burger was cheat food. But I guess much of what its comprised of would be 6 weeks out, like you said.
I forgot about pizza. I probably eat it once or twice a month.
I think I need to cheat more often. Clean eating is boring.

I’ve always wanted to make the 6 hour commute to Cleveland to try the Melt Challenge:
13 different cheeses, 3 slices of grilled bread and a pile of hand-cut fries & slaw. Over 5lbs of food!!
Did i mention I’m a cheese lover?[/quote]
Man, I’m all about cheese too. This is the greatest thing I’ve ever seen in my life! Not something I should be looking at while dieting down! I can almost taste it…

Man vs Food is an amazing show. When I’m cutting/dieting, I watch the show and live vicariously through him, and somehow I actually think it helps curb my cravings. I cook up a ton of broccoli with couple chicken breasts and eat those while he’s downing whatever glorious feast he has set out to conquer. Try it out.

How many seasons can my man Adam go thru before his doctor makes him stop. Judging by how he looks in the eyes after each challenge I’m betting he has one more season left in him.

It was actually 14 different cheeses. My girl and I went to Colorado a couple of weeks ago and ate at Duffy’s Cherry Cricket our last night there. Easily one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. We watch MVF 4 or 5 times a week. It’s awesome. My goal is that everywhere I travel will have been covered by MVF and I’ll eat at one of the featured spots and/or try a challenge.
actually enjoying a plate of Some badass bulking Nachos. 8 oz of taco meat, Whole grain chips, cheese of course, guacamole. Bam, throw in some spice and youre golden.

He’s gained a lot of weight from last season to now, and he wasn’t a small guy to begin with. Wonder if it was strategic to help him tackle challenges or a consequence of doing all the challenges?

I’ve been fantasizing over a sandwich like this for a few days, except it wouldn’t have slaw and there would be 3 different styles of fries stuffed in it- thick texas fries, medium “five guys” fries, and fresh McDonalds fries.
