Favorite Zombie Killing Weapon

So, somebody besides me has been reading the Zombie Survial Handbook?

Katana is prefered. I own a set. A Chainsaw like Ash in Army of Darkness, and something fiery…

PS: do you turn into a zombie if you have sex with one? Is that an STD?
I hear you have sex like a zombie once you get married…

But thats just a rumor I heard.

For long range, a reliable semi-automatic rifle not prone to jamming.

Melee would be a machete or WWI-era “spike” .

Also, those in this thread who have not read “The Zombie Survival Guide” or “World War Z” must do so immediately.
The trench spike is the bomb. I know that it was built for trench warfare, but you know that - in his heart - that guy was thinking close quarters zombie contact.

Also, “The Walking Dead” is an essential read (nevermind that it is a graphic novel - it’s till the most realistic portrayal of a zombie world ever).

You really have to go with a shotgun here. Since the thread started has clearly played some video games, I’ll just throw this one out there…

energy sword.

Having a bear on your side would be great, but there is the chance it would get bitten, and turn. Then you’d have one bad ass zombie to kill.

I fuckin wish an energy sword really existed… Im certian its even more effective then Star Wars technology. If half the shit from the Halo games were real, that would rock. Period.

definitely not getting up after being hit with a 50 cal round

You still need a Katana…just for the image.
that’s true plus you never know when you are going into close quarters

I’m surprised no one has suggested billiard cues yet!

Don’t stop me now…

For long-range, any decent rifle that’s semi-automatic and has a good scope. I’d say bolt-action could work too because it’d allow you to aim better but what if you get swarmed en masse and need to bust some shots off quickly ? Well, obviously running it my first defence where possible. Many of you seem to have non-functioning brains like a zombie and you think you’ll go all Resident Evil on them ;).

For shorter-range, a d-eagle or a shotgun or anything with a punch, knockback and stopping power ability. For close-encounters of the undead kind, trojan magnum ;). Naw, but any good blunt object will do; baseball bats, golf clubs, crowbars, sledgehammers.

I’d say a blade but there exists the problem of the blade getting stuck and cutting yourself which would essentially mean you’re fcked. And in the zombiepocaylpse, fcked isn’t good. You don’t have your momma to bail you out because likely she’s saying ‘BRAAAAAAINNNNNNS’ somewhere.

For transportation…anything that moves but if there’s a large group of you, a city bus or a school bus would work. Maybe and APC would be ideal but be serious, where does one get one of those ? It’s not like the millitary guys that lived would just let you HAVE one. They have bigger guns than you, keep that in mind.

Be realistic though, in the event this happens, you ain’t gonna find these speciality weapons just laying around.

Oh and to the guy who suggested blasting Wagner when on a zombie-killing spree…as much as I apreciate the though of killing the undead to The Valkyries’ bad-ass factor…don’t you think it would rouse notice ? Remember, many zombies…a few humans. You’ll want to Solid Snake it where possible.

I Hear you bro, if the machine gun or pistol doesnt work, a quick “Invalid item number” will sort them out.
Take that Fucker!

Since we are being realistic here. I’d hop aboard a M1Abrams. It’s as easy to drive as a motorcycle. You can have your buddies ride along with you, and if our lucky you’ll find about 30 MREs on board.

Hail to the duke baby

depending on the circumstances, if I had to escape from a zombie-infested zone in order to find safety I’d prefer to use a crossbow and a trench knife.

the crossbow allows you to target zombies from long range without alerting any other zombies in the area. The noise that a firearm would make would give away your location and quickly lose effectiveness if you are attacked by multiple undead.

the trench knife would be for close combat, where you’re able to either punch or puncture a zombie’s skull. Hopefully if you’re good with the crossbow and watch your step, you won’t have to worry about close-combat.

…yeah, i’ve thought over this a bit too much.

Until you run out of fuel in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by zombies.

Exactly.

On a related note, what would be a better defense?

An Army Base, or a Mall?

Guys, guys, I cannot be there and fight your battles for you. I’ll have my own zombies to kill! Sheesh!
