Hyperbolic Time Chamber? Vegeta used it twice. Goku used it twice. Everyone used that chamber.
Goku died and earned the right to train with King Kai. The afterlife tournament? He loves to fight, that’s all. Vegeta spent all of this time training, just like Goku probably did.
Goku was the first guy to fight Perfect Cell during the Cell Tournament. Goku was only late to the fight against Vegeta and Nappa because he was traveling on Snake Way, which takes a long time. And he was late to Planet Namek because he was recovering in the hospital and had to fly to Planet namek.
Goku only requires everyone power during the Spirit Bomb and he only uses that when there’s no way in hell of beating their opponent. And he’s the only one who knows the technique.
Goku has learned special techniques like Kaio-ken, Spirit Bomb, and Instant Teleportation. But 2 of those techniques are only taught to people who are worthy. Vegeta never met King Kai and he wouldn’t be worthy due to his evil nature.
The “Incredible Hulk” movie version of the Hulk. None of that multiple personality psycho-babble, and I could totally relate to the character of Bruce, his struggle with his emotions and his desires that were always too far away.
Also (Goku vs Vegita) can’t we all just get along?
I am a big fan of Rorschach. Complete off-the-wall crazy homeless dude that fought crime. Took matters into his own hands and wasn’t afraid to dole out the justice.
Also, I liked Vegeta best out of the DBZ characters. He may have done some stupid crap and allowed villains to rise to full power on more than one occasion, but what I liked best was his single-mindedness that bordered on obsession. All he wanted was to be the strongest warrior, and would do whatever it took to get there.
If you can’t tell, I am a fan of the crazy superheroes lol. They’re just more interesting than the standard vanilla.
If I remember correctly, on the “letting villains reach their most powerful”, didn’t Goku give Cell one of those power seed things (I can’t remember what they’re called) because he was so sure his son could beat him, then when Cell was kicking Gohan’s ass, Goku got himself killed? I’m basing this on a distant memeory of the cartoons, so I’ll need someone to agree before I’m sure on that one.

Senzu Bean! Your forgot that Goku had to teleport Cell to KKai’s place so he could save earth from Cell’s Suicide attempt. Thats how we died.

This is better than Final Flash.
This right here is what his character boils down to. Evil? Yes. Cocky, foolish? Yes. But he’ll blow himself up to save the universe (two offers of sacrifice in the Buu Saga).
The guy fought every major villain Goku did. He’s not as good as Goku, but he has just as much balls. Freeza, 18, Cell, and Buu. Its a fight to the death (except Freeza, but Freeza was a different breed of villain).
Granted, he’s pretty much the cause of the Cell and Buu sagas, but does that stop him from being a BAMF? Maybe a stupid BAMF though.
In my mind, its the fact that he is so outclassed against so many villains, yet fights them as though they were equals that makes him stand out. Goku always seems to have a chance, Vegeta never does.
Vegeta will always be my favourite in DBZ. He starts up as a youn fighter who thinks a lot of himself and is out there to conquer. AFter the friezer saga he matures into this man who works hard to be the best(better than Goku). Because he is the prince of saiyans his pride is hurt because Goku, who is a commoner, is better than him. That is why he makes so many foolhardy mistakes, becuse his pride fills him with blind rage.
Eventually in Buu saga, you see him put aside his pride after fighting Goku (and knocking him out with a cunning trick haha) and he sacrifices himself to protect his family. He changes from proud warrior who fights for glory, to a conflicted one that fights for survival of the people he has grown to love. Later on in the GT saga, he teams up totally with Goku to beat the dragons etc etc…Goku is a good character but he seems to have it easy while Vegeta is the one working his ass off.

Vegeta has done too much stupid shit to be forgiven so easily. But let’s move forward!
Dragonball GT isn’t canon and I personally hated the series.

Yea I’ve watched Baki. Good anime but only the first season is worth watching (while Baki is still a young teenager). After that it just gets too weird and lame for me. Anyone watch Hajime No Ippo? It’s a boxing anime where the main character (Ippo) learns to box after getting bullied in high school. He’s basically Goku who fights like Mike Tyson without the ear thing.
