None taken. Dr. Strange was mentioned. he’s magi. technically, magic is just an explanation for the heroes power, no different than mutation, mysticism, chi, or alien origin.
I’d posit that you just don’t know who Raistlin is. His character is physically very weak, but overcomes all his weaknesses through force of will alone, eventually being powerful enough and crafty enough to actually take down an entire pantheon of gods. It’s the kind of character that strikes a cord with people who feel they are weak and aspire to greatness, hence why my geek 12-year-old self sympathized and saw myself in that character.
Another favorite character I remember just now is Timothy Hunter from DCs the books of magic.

No story line? Are you fucking stupid? Nevermind its apparent you are. But i will say Dragonballgt was terrible. But yeah, they didnt have these unlimited strength levels to start. Goku was considered average when Raditz first came into play. He received special training from king kai after giving up his life to take Raditz out for good. He developed throughout the show, but he remained an awesome person and it showed through his character. Of course there are things that make it cheesy at times, but i wouldnt expect perfection through almost 300 episodes. No story line? Give me a break…

Because of this, many of the ‘upper level’ heroes/villains in the DC/Marvel Universe could potentially beat his ass. The usual suspects don’t stand a chance though: Superman? please. Hulk? Sentry? Even Thor. The guy has too much of an arsenal.
Galactus and Thanos, are two guys that come to mind that would whoop him.

Whole-heartedly agree.
My major gripe with the series is that it could have come to a close after the Freeza saga, when Goku went SSJ the first time.
Freeza was a ridiculously good villain. Just when you thought there was a possibility of beating him, he brought more shit to the table. Here you had a character that could blow up a fucking planet like he was squatting 135.
Cell was, like Vegita-san said, somewhat entertaining; but that saga was a dip, and past that point I got the feeling the writers were trying to prolong the series.
I enjoyed certain parts of the Buu saga though, it had its moments.

By no story line I meant the same story line over and over. Bad guy comes and is stronger than the hero, good guys flip a shit, get special training or special item, hero shows up is comparable to bad guy, they both make sex noises, bad guy kills good guys friend, good guy gets angry and uses special attack, bad guy dies, good guys find drangonballs, dead people come back making the good guys bitching and anger pointless. Damn what an interesting story.
