I can’t believe Steven Wright has only had one mention so far. He rocks. No one has his style. No one comes close, IMO.
He has got some funny shit.
“If your driving the speed of light and you turn on your headlights, do they work?”
some good contemporary stuff would be Rodney Carrington or the bloodhound gang (twisted but funny).
Once by accident I put my car keys in the front door of my apartment, and it started up. So I took it for a drive. I was pulled over and the cop asked me where I lived, I said here.
Gilbert is very underrated. He only has one DVD out though and its very short. He was really good on Stern and I recently heard him on Penn’s noew show and he was hilarious!

I’m not sure that he a CD out, and he’s kinda left field here, but.
Bob Sagget
Don’t let the lame tv shows fool you. Live he is the raunchiest, dirtiest comedian I’ve seen.
i have actually heard this from a very trusted source, but i have yet to hear bob’s material.

sure, others are good, but you gotta draw the line somewhere
I gotta second Dave Chapelle, one of the best stand up routines I have heard, actually really surprised me how good it was…listened to it a few years back. Chris Rock as well, his latest one is hilarious - Never Scared.
I forgot to mention Eddie Griffin. I must admit that there were times when I had racist thoughts toward certain groups… His video made me laugh it off and see how stupid I was being. It’s like he said “it’s just over some bullshit”. When he goes over what’s going through a white man’s head when they see a black dude and vice versa. Needless to say he has made me a better person inside. The video is called Voodoo Child.
