Some people will never accept you don’t “need” carbs to train at a high level. Awesome job dude

I always win pain tolerance events. It’s what one of those records was for: farmer’s hold for time.

@TrainForPain set up was too perfect, haha

Got 410 for 75 feet raw at 175 pounds recently

It’s OK…………for endurance.

Our 200 and under class (most guys weighed in the night before and put on 20# for the comp.)

Started the early years with 225 an arm farmers (450 total) 60’ turn 60’ back (I never dropped ‘em). A couple years later we had 265an arm for the same distance (I dropped them that year) and finally 300 an arm for a straight 60’

We also had a farmers hold for 265 an arm (I got 1st place).

We also topped off yoke with 710#, a 700# tire with several little tires tied inside it. 600# Conan’s wheel. 250# was Atlas Stone #1.

Our state chair was pushing 50 and couldn’t eat carbs, I never saw the guy eat, I only saw him drink Budweiser’s at the after parties at his house, most of the night. I’d leave and he’d still be drinking.

He was in the over 200 class (231 cap off) he won most events except any pure strength event, and he couldn’t do any pressing from his old powerlifting injuries.

But he won all the carries.

More power foods: ribs and eggs

I think I’m going to take my mini-retirement in a few months and go on the steak and eggs diet.

I hit a 10# PR in the elevated rack hack deadlift over the weekend, the bar was raised 5" with 485#

My previous best was 475 months and months ago.

I attempted this lift about a month ago and maxed out at 455.

I was originally thinking 480, but I had 5s right next to me, so I went with 485. I had no CLUE how this was going to go.

Here’s the power food I had-

1/2 a CLiff bar - lift 445 x1 (not too bad, but I knew I was going to have to go psycho)

2nd 1/2 of Cliff bar - lift 485 x1

The lift took every fiber from my head to toe. So there it was, I ate half a Cliff bar, lifted 445, Ate the other half, lifted 485.

What is that?

LOL, errr that’s trash.

You will live forever if you stamp out PB and Almounds.

I can see your Tombstone now-

“Here lies OTay, the man with the perfect diet, he still died”

Every couple of years I take 3-6 months off work and do whatever I feel like. So persuing a hobby, taking some courses, traveling, annoying my wife, writing new menus, ect.

It’s good time to focus on the gym and diet when I can sleep on my schedule and zero in on a diet.

I’ve heard that referred to as “a sabbatical”

I’m very knowledgeable on bodybuilding nutrition. Apparently, not so much on Strongman/ Powerlifting nutrition. I’m not questioning your success eating steak eggs prior to your strongman competition, but did you carb load the night before. Edify me.

Sure you are.

In 3 months, you went from 187 at 18.6% body fat to 213 at 15.4% body fat at 5"10. No AAS, no SARMs, following IF.

And you just turned 60? OK

Nope. I ate a lot of meat and eggs at a buffet the night before

Last BIA scan on my 60th b-day. The numbers don’t lie.
