Favorite Before Bed Shake

Getting something good in before bed seems to be in the plan for most folks trying to add muscle. I’m curious as to what people are using. Here’s my current favorite recipe, nice and simple:

1 cup whole milk Greek yogurt
1 scoop chocolate whey
6 ice cubes
water to thin it out (just enough to get it blended)

Breakdown:
Kcal - 418
Protein - 37g
Fat - 25g
Carbs - 10g

This tastes amazing, like a frothy frozen coffee. Delicious way to get a decent amount of whey + very high quality casein in before bed.

Normally I go with a whole food meal Cottage Cheese, Natty PB, I scoop of Protein powder (Chocolate) and a little splenda.

But if Im having a shake I’ll have 2 Scoop’s of Casein Protein with a couple TBSP’s of Natty Peanut Butter with some ground flax and water.

I’m finding it hard to imagine Greek yogurt and chocolate whey tasting good together!

I have whey ( I don’t have casein) and water with some Horlick’s (kind of like Ovaltine) if I even make a shake.

I don’t really think I lose muscle when I sleep. But it does feel like I’m doing the right thing by taking the shake.

Whole Milk, 16oz
1 Scoop ON Natural Whey Vanilla
1-2 scoops, Superfood (Biotest)
1 Scoop, MD Vanilla

Freezer for 10 minutes

Shake a little bit to break up any ice

Fuckin’ enjoy.

Seriously, try it. I had no idea how it was going to taste but needed something in a pinch and didn’t have anything else to work with. To me at least it really does taste a lot like iced coffee, it’s hard to explain, but it’s good.

I’ll have things from straight Metabolic Drive, Metabolic drive + PB, cottage Cheese, or if my numbers allow, a couple of scoops of banana Metabolic Drive mixed in with cottage cheese, cashews and some cinnamon!
