Favorite Beer

I gotta tell ya…I’m not big on Sam Adams anymore…I’m really not a beer snob…there’s just something about Sam Adams that doesn’t work for me anymore…I think it’s:

 1. Those horrible radio commercials they did where the guy says, “Hi, I’m Jim Koch” and he sounds so damn whiney…

 2. They made the patriot on the bottle smile. He used to look real stoic and cool. Now he’s like fucking Happy Go Lucky…

 3. The taste doesn’t make me feel like it’s worth the price…

So…I don’t like it basically because of the advertising and the packaging…also…they now make a lite beer…just not right…

Anyone else affected like this?

If marketing strategies kept me away from certain products, I’d never buy anything from the Biotest store.

Oh no I di’int!

Ugh, I cringe at the mere sight of The Beast and Natty Lite.

I go to school in a small town in upstate NY. TOnight is mug night at the local bar, which means 32 oz. of Natty Ice for $1. Thursday is definitely my favorite night of the week.

Shits weak. I’ve been to a bar that has penny natty drafts all night.

I’ll have a round for the bar…
Damn man, you’re living the dream

Don’t get me started on Taco Bell with those dumb-ass commercials where that one fag is teaching his younger brother fag about man rules regarding dragon tatoos and lap dogs…I swear to god never to eat there again and disown my children should they ever eat there…
I go by flavor alone and sam adams is glorious. Their marketing doesnt offend me enough to make me stop enjoying it.

We had 25cent drafts at the bar down the road from my SUNY school but they got rid of it after two underage girls got drunk, got on the thruway going the wrongway and hit a Mac truck.

I guess this sums up Sammy for me…

Oh Sam Adams. How you were once a cherished god, in the dorm room days, one step above an MGD splurge. Your line is solid.
Your heritage, robust. And you are a kind friend when lesser beers abound. But let us patriotically face the facts. Sam Adams beers are, and will forever be, strictly average and mortal.

Of course…I’m kind of dying for one right now seeing as how it’s 11:52 on Friday afternoon…so that’d be 2 hours and 38 minutes before I’m done for the weekend…

My favorites, in no particular order
-Xingu (Brazilian Black lager. Delicious, and very smooth. Really carbonated as well)
-Bass Pale Ale
-Harp Lager
-Dos Equis Amber
-Warsteiner Dunkel
-Leinenkugels “Big Butt” Dopplebock

I had this beer, Brahma, the other week, and to my surprise, I actually liked it. One of my friends picked it up cause it was cheap, but it turned out good.

Plus, the bottles represent the brasilian women pretty well, anyway; Curvy.

Has the High Life been given any love yet? I think its my favorite cheap beer.

Dude, warm keystone light freshman year H.S., Cold Keystone light Soph. year, keystone/miller lite mix junior year, then purely miller lite and bud light senior year! Only been out of high school for 2 years but man, I remember those four years like they were yesterday!!

I can’t believe no one has mentioned Alaskan Amber.

Blue Ribbon
Blue Moon
Guinness

Chimay ales are the best! It’s actually brewed by monks!
I also enjoy Tripel Karmeliet.
Also local beers are good. Nothing like really, really fresh beer.

I’m on my fourth Paulaner Salvator right now.

In Aggieland we used to have penny pitchers.

Rogue Dead Guy Ale
Paulaner Salvator

These have thus far replaced any fav I used to have.
Hey Ragoo,

Where did you buy Rogue Dead Guy Ale? Maybe I can find it in Lafayette.

My favorite pool hall finally started carrying Abita, which gives me 3 reasons to keep showing up.

 1. Big Tits
 2. Quality beer
 3. 9-ball (of course reasons 1 and 2 are probably why my game still sucks)

Hoegaarden (Primary)
Various craft/import wheat beers (Back-up)
Shiner Bock
Newcastle
Rogue Dead Guy Ale
Negra Modelo
Warsteiner Verum
Don’t you have VB (Victoria Bitter), Hahn Ice, Carlton Draft, XXXX, Toohey’s, Fosters, etc.?
Foster’s is Australia’s joke to the world :P. When I drink local I like:

James Squire (golden or amber ale)
Coopers (stout, sparkling or pale depending on mood)
Little Creatures (Bright ale is awesome)

As for imports:

Erdinger (awesome wheatbeer)
Pretty much any belgian beer, but can only really get leffe, hoegaarden or duvel here with any ease.

Coors Light

The best tastes are acquired.

Natt Ice tastes like salted urine. Natty Light is another story.
