I love the bent row too, but most of the time my hamstrings and lower back are too dead from heavy GMs/dls/squats to be effective as a base for holding the weight.
I don’t have a favorite, but one that hasn’t been mentioned is trap bar rows
Not too long ago I would have said pulldowns. However, I just started doing Rippetoe and now love bent over barbell rows.
T-bar rows done with smaller plates, rack chins and rack deads done dragging up and down the rack(think stripping the paint off) are my favorites currently. Also a very bent over cable row done with the parallel grip handle that I suggested somewhere else.
Edited(again) because I’m horrible at typing tonight.

smaller plates = a greater ROM?
exactly
chest supported rows, deads for reps
deadlifts
barbell hypers
If you r eally want to destroy your back:
five sets of 5 with weighted chin ups
and super set with 5 sets of five deadlift with a power shrug at the top.
I like seated row with a straight bar, keeping the bar as low as possible.
But they’re all good really.

Yeah, that’s a great choice. The looks other people give you are also a bonus.
i love having to weigh down the hyper at the back end with 45lb plates so it doesn’t tip over from the sheer force of my fucking awesome
deads and t-bar rows
Bump for bmitch,
I use 25s on the bar. Real controlled negative.
