That is actually what isn’t true. They are MAINTAINING half a ton of body weight BECAUSE they are still eating a few hundred thousand cals a day.
Most of the obese people I have ever known (one of my frat brothers was obese and he just died recently at the age of 39 in part because of it) eat the most when no one is around. He would do most of his eating at him. He ate normally when around other people.
You don’t stay that big without keeping the intake high.
That bulk actually uses calories to maintain.
I am more amazed that the human body can even stretch itself like that. Generally speaking…she is a look at how awesome we are put together…that it will stretch to those lengths when we try to tear it apart.
That’s news to me. Which is even more of an indictment against the people who feed them. I’m talking the 600lb, can no longer get out of their own bedroom people. Someone has to bring them those calories, which means someone could take control of the situation.
Then again, the occaisions when I’ve been in their homes it seems like whatever mental illness is at play has a grip on the entire house hold.

This thread kinda reminds me of the movie “What’s Eating Gilbert Grape”.
Mama?..Mama?..
Mentioned that unrelated in another thread a day or so ago and decided to go back and re-watch it. Man, I forgot how great DiCaprio was as Arnie Grape, he’s been cheated out of an Oscar more times than I can care to count. If he doesn’t get one for The Wolf Of Wall Street, heads will roll.
I recommend What’s Eating Gilbert Grape to those who haven’t seen it, it’s a really incredibly good film, and DiCaprio’s mentally ill role is one of the only of it’s type that I can really take seriously.
I quietly agree with you, but this is a BB forum; I wouldn’t be surprised if someone who’s 5’9 230lbs posted for the first time and someone said “keep bulking bro”. Fact is, most 5’9 guys who are heavier than 180 could lose a few pounds.

LOL. One of my training partners was 5’7 220lbs. No gut. Maybe 15lbs away from “beach ready”.

Normal people exist?
How strange.
Which is why I said ‘most people’. I think you’ll agree that a 5’9 230lbs guy with no gut is a very rare sight.

Absolutely, it’s rare even among individuals that lift regularly.

The first doctor gets on and says she eats 18,000 calories a day and the 2nd doctor gets on a says its her thyroid.
She either has a thyroid problem and severe swelling or she is eating 18,000 calories a day, you can’t have it both ways. This isn’t Nam there are rules!

Maybe her thyroid ate the 18,000 calories. Ever thought about that, smart guy?
