I’m looking ahead to my next training setup, and I’m looking for some input. I’m thinking of trying one of Davies programs. Who here has tried Fat to Fire (1 or 2), Renegade Bodybuilding, Renegade Training, etc.? I’m looking for comments on how they worked for you, i.e. loss of fat, conditioning, cardiovascular improvement, strength gain, etc. As you can see by my pics in the other forum, I need to shed some fat before I start working on gaining muscle, but I’d like to gain strength if I could. Thanks everyone!
I did fat to fire and it worked really well for me in dropping a few pounds and increasing work capacity. I followed the weighted workouts exactly as written by Davies and used Mahler’s High octance cardio on GPP days. Hope this helps
I did find that I lost some strength on this program though, b/c the weights you have to use are so much lower if you are coming off of a strength/hypertrophy session.
But as far as fat loss goes, this is a good one. I think its just b/c of the serious amount of ass busting work you have to do to get er done. Squats then Med balls woodchoppers will have you crying. Holy…
Follow it to a T and see what happens, the saving grace is that you only have to bust your ass for 3 weeks and your golden. Enjoy the week off of rest and enjoy the rope skipping, that’s pretty fun for warm up purposes.
The fat to fire program is an excellent program to bring up your GPP levels. Now for fat loss I prefer a very high intensity program. Remember diet is the key to fat loss.
I just started Renegade Training for Fottball again today (I switch from Westside when I feel I need a break from the super heavy stuff). The workout starts with dumbbel swings both 2 hand and one hand 25 reps each. Then db snatches, 5 reps l/r then jumping rope… Then the workout starts. Squats, Romanian DL, towel chins etc., etc. It’s a total bitch but I need the flexibility and “wind” it provides. Plus it’s a nice (hmmm?) break. Try his stuff, it’ll kick your ass but at least people will wonder what the hell you are doing!
Fat to Fire was how I got into Renegade training. It is very challenging and painful, but you will be rewarded with a leaner, more versatile and more athletic physique. His programs show you just how far a body can be oushed without overtraining.
