Fat Loss + Weight Gain for Ecto

Thanks a ton for all the feedback.

I’ll start with the numbers.
Max Bench
September 1/07: 130 (weight: 130)
…continued to gain, but hit somewhat of a wall, gained weight during this period… started Thib’s program in January…
Jan 1/08: 155
February 1/08: ~165
March 3/08: 180

I began clustering in late January and noticed an immediate gain in my bench. As for squats and deadlifts, I am on Thib’s program for USC so I only do hacksquats and do not do deadlifts. However, my leg strength has dramatically increased since December with rest-pause training.

Pull ups: 29
Chin ups: Not sure

I know that this is a bodybuilding forum and I know that you all want me to get BIG, but frankly I am satisfied with the weight I’m at. I have gained 18 pounds in seven months. When I was at 140 (I am at 153 now), the doctor told me I was at the average weight for my height (5’8’'). I naturally have the build of a soccer player, and I wanted to change that by bodybuilding.

I started doing Thib’s program for USC in January and my muscles responded to it very positively. The strength gains that I used to get in two months came in 2 weeks. Currently, I am able to increase 2.5 lbs for dumbbell exercises every two weeks.

The point I am trying to make is that I am bodybuilding seriously, 4 days a week. I am gaining muscle, more than I ever have. The outputs are positive.

A big question is what is my ideal physique. Well, I want to continue to grow, yes. I want muscle and I want to be strong. But I don’t want to be BIG and BUFF, I want to be thick. I decided to do carb cycling because I don’t want to gain anymore weight, I don’t want to lose weight, but I want to lean down while continuing to gain muscle. In my mind, I have bulked up enough. I want to slowly gain weight through muscle growth, and maybe hit 160 in the near future.

Obviously, I realize that hoping for abs is a bit of an aesthetic focus. Well I’m fine with that. I am already lean but I’ve always wanted an aesthetic body, so why not pursue it? My main objective is still strength, don’t get me wrong. I have muscle in my top and middle abs, obliques and some in the lower abs, and I have a visible 6 pack already. However, I want to burn the fat that’s covering some of the bottom abs.

This is ALL the summary we need from anything you’ve written. You don’t need any more advice, as youre well on your way. Your ideas and knowledge about diet and training is as much or worse of a clusterfuck as the actual training and diet program you are currently following. I wish you all the best in reaching your goals.

Good point! This is why so many people are running in place instead of making serious progress!
