hi guys,
would bcaa’s help significantly with a fat loss program consisting of 3 days total body resistance training 3 days interval training?
On a restricted diet, BCAA’s will probably do a superb job at helping you recover quicker.
It’s just too bad BCAA pills are murderously expensive (atleast here). I’ve only once sprung for a bottle and I wasn’t blown away. Money better spent on whey IMHO.

I’m not sure I completely understand your question. Are you asking if they will aid in the fat loss? If so the answer is no. They are great during a cutting phase specifically for recovery and to aid in lean mass preservation. I believe they have been touted as actually more beneficial during a cutting stage than a bulking stage. So yes- good idea to use them.

What did you expect them to do for you? If your budget is tight then yes it should be spent on food first.

Completely agree. I’ve gotten a lot out of BCAA’s in the past, just started using the Biotest product.
a scoop of the grow whey cost the same as the BCAA content of it bought in caps, hardly ridiculously expensive, and the only way to get it cheaper is ordering bulk powder which tastes like crap.
if you are not eating real food, supplements are not supplements, they are the backbone of your diet, not what they were meant to be, and definately not what they are advertised as or recommended for.
you can get ON BCAA 300 softgel on boybuilding.com for 19.99. 150servings, thats not too bad. A question about them i just noticed cuz i recently picked up 2 bottles and noticed it has soybean oil in them as the first one in the “other ingredients” section. Should i be concerned about this??

Yep. I still haven’t seen a good explanation explaining why taking BCAAs in between meals is superior to having a scoop or two of whey in between meals.

My sentiment exactly.
I may have been let down because I got sold in on BCAA’s after listening to a salesman giving me the whole rhetoric when I was first starting out.
Can’t say it did much for my muscle soreness; probably because I was already chugging the whey shakes.
As for the pricing, maybe I didn’t calculate the BCAA value from my whey containers but the BCAA bottle I bought (90 caps) was the same price as a 5kg container of whey.
Only scenario I’ve seen where BCAA pills might give you an advantage is in that whole “if you wake up to pee, you can increase your protein synthesis by taking BCAA”, cause I can’t picture myself handling the shaker before breakfast.
Take home lesson for me though: Salesmen and supplement companies will prey on my feelings of smallness by promising me huge gains from just about anything.
Everyone talks about the next creatine. Do you ever seen someone promising the next glutamine? =)
