Tear it up meat!
even if you are only a BB right now…
thanks folks!! I’m not too happy about bitch’n out and only benching but you do what you have to.
This comp. is a qualifier for the Nationals but luckily I’m already qualified since I won my division at the Worlds last year. hopefully one of my guys will do well and also qualify.
thanks again.
You win at the Worlds and I can’t even beat the competition in Manchester, NH. Do you ever use a bench shirt or lifting suit of any kind?

i have a bench shirt that i’ve never put on. i do have two different pairs of “power pants” that i wear from time to time. they really save the hips and groin.
I can’t figure why so many people wear bench shirts. It no longer is an advantage if everyone uses one. I’ve seen guys who were using shirts benching sub-400 lbs. Get this big shirt on and miss 315.
“power pants”? are those like underoos? 8*)
Seriously, large one, tear it up this weekend!

i could understand it back when there was only single ply gear. these guys were huge and strong. now it seems every newbie wants to jump right into gear. I can’t help but smile a bit when i’m competing and i have guys all around me in my flight in multiply gear. they have their entire posse around them pulling and tugging on shit. yelling all sorts of commands at them. then i walk over snap my lever belt and go to work in my tee shirt.
it should be simple… if you don’t look like a powerlifter, you shouldn’t be using gear yet.

thanks!!
but remember… that’s what you call me on that OTHER site:)
Meat, when I lift(any exercise)I’ve been moving the bar or db as fast as I can without cheating. Is this correct? Like for db chest press I move the weight as if I was punching a heavy bag. Is this to fast?

definitely on the concentric portion. i believe in a very slow and controlled eccentric portion so that i can build tension in the muscles and then explode like a slingshot. obviously with near maximum poundages the bar isn’t going to move fast but you strive to move it as fast as possible.
even on DE stuff, my eccentric is slow and controlled and then explode on the concentric.
Kick ass this weekend bud, Make me proud :)you big sexy power bear,

No, they like the friction.
Kick some ass, Meat!
Good lifting tomorrow, Meat.
well… just got back from the meet. I opened with 460- three whites… very easy. took 495 as my second attempt, half way i felt something pullng under my right pec where i injured it a couple weeks ago. needless to say the left arm flew up but the right didn’t. took the same weight for my third but same thing only more pain this time.
460 was still 30lbs over the state record and enough to take first place in the 275 open division.
time to heal up fully now.
Good job meat. Nice lifting
