Fat Guy in a Little Coat- Powerlifting Log

After my money sets I’m usually so spent I can’t do a high volume workout. Especially with squats and deads.

my stalker is at it again. gave me a good laugh before i head to the gym. check out “powerlifting will kill you” should i stoop to Aaron’s level?? what do you think Pete??

my stalker is at it again. gave me a good laugh before i head to the gym. check out “powerlifting will kill you” should i stoop to Aaron’s level?? what do you think Pete?? off to the gym.

accessory day-

assisted pullups
10x3

pendlay rows- first time doing these. i find them harder than when you keep moving. i think the reason is that i use a wide grip and that puts me closer to the floor than parallel. i like them though…i’ll keep them in the rotation. i switch off from these to kroc rows.

135x6
225x6
315x6

seated dumbell presses-paused. haven’t done these in awhile. didn’t go heavy. just kept it strict and high reps.

50’s x 6
80’s x 6
120’s x 10

circuit

face pulls - dumbell cleans - bent over lateral raises

some x 20 x 3

circuit

reverse curl - cable wrist curl

some x 20 x 3

circuit

seated calf raise - standing calf raise

some x 20 x 5 - this was just retarded.

good day.

another good training session. hit up the elevated deads again. decided to jump 50lbs from last time. it was a bit much of a jump. i hit the first set but definitely blew my load. if you sit through the entire vid of that set you will see why. my lower back is definitely getting stronger. in the past, this position would cause a shearing pain through my lower back as i initiate the lift. this time i didn’t get that until the second set:)

Impressed.

After all of this Meat-watching, as I’m about to unrack the squat bar I’ve taken to visualizing you with all that weight on your shoulders in that last squat vid, and I think “would Meat pussy out on squatting this? No. Then should Kimba pussy out on squatting this. NO!”

So far, this is working - got past a stupid-ass fail-weight this week.

thanks Kimba!! visualization is definitely helpful. i usually visualize something really hurtful in my past. that’s why sometimes it takes me awhile to get going. i’ve had youtube “experts” critisize me for taking too long before some of my lifts. sometimes i get a scenerio running in my head and it has to play out before i can lift.

I’m not comfortable saying I come in here to get a Meat fix…I’ll leave that to the ladies…but it is always inspiring / humbling to check out your log.

I agree visualization can be powerful. Recently before a big weight or PR I have been repeating to myself, “I’m not missing this lift, I’m not missing this lift, I’m not missing this lift, I’m not missing this lift, (insert weight), I’m not missing this lift, etc.” in a kind of mantra. Me against the weight and I’m not losing.

See, I provide a valuable service.

Meat fix obtained. All is well today.

I did smile at the “didn’t go heavy” comment, as from my perspective one of those dumbbells weighs more than I do.

I don’t think you need to. What a douche. I could come up with some good one liners though.

Was wondering why I get chest pain when I lift heavy. Now I know.

i’m way ahead of you bro.

Excellent vid of the blond doing lat pulldowns but some guy kept doing db presses and gettin in the way of the shot. He looked damn strong with the dbs though.

i was wondering when someone would comment on that.

I thought her posture was admirably upright.

finally someone is on track… can that fat dude move out of the way, he’s ruining my view, lol…

you guys are brutal. everyone is beautiful in their own way… i’m still looking for my way.

anyway… i’m really onto something with my bench training. i moved my grip in some when i hurt my shoulder and it’s really taking off. tonight i had either ring finger or pinkies on rings on all sets and the weight was flying off my chest. i was a bit concerned that the more narrow grip was increaseing my lockout but my pause would be for shit. so, i decided to do some flat backed, long pause benches at the end. needless to say, i was able to row the weight down under control and even in a fatigued state hit a strong 465. i’m think’n that over the next couple weeks that number will climb to 500.

tonight’s training-

reverse band bench- about 100lbs off the top and no more than 200lbs off the bottom.
315x6
405x4
495x1
585x1
705x1x3 +30lb PR. still have more in the tank on these

feet up, flat backed, long pause bench- these all felt strong. decided to stop at 465 and i’ll up it next week
225x1
315x1
405x1
455x1
465x1

elbow’s out
50’s x 6
120’s x 6
140’s x 6

stupid ass conversation of the night. let me set the scene. i just finished my set of 465. this skinny guy asks me for a spot. i say sure. he’s doing decline bench. he looks at me and says- “i know it’s not a lot of weight but it’s a lot for a skinny white boy” i just kinda grunt. i give him a lift off and the dude proceeds to do this hyperventalating thing where he starts to breath really fast. he does it throughout all of his 1 1/4 reps. i rack the bar and then make the mortal mistake… i say- “bro, you really need to take a deep breath right before the handoff and then hold it as long as possible throughout the set” “this will keep you tight throughout your set” he says- “no way bro… you have to breath as fast as possible to get your heart rate up. getting your heart rate up creates a ton of power.” usually i wouldn’t say anything but this struck me as exceptionally idiotic. I say back- “bro, i bench in the 500’s and there’s a reason for that, but if this is working for you, by all means keep doing it” i then walk away shaking my head. I then see him go up to on of the front desk people. he points back at me and i can tell he is telling them how the big ugly dude hurt his feelings.

where do they come up with this shit??

bitchslutwhore how dare you bench the same night as me?

Good work. Yeah, some people just don’t take advice well. ‘Oh my god, that guy just said what Jimmy the trainer told me was all wrong, kick him out, he intimidates me!!!’

Wow you were able to get 465 without your cheater arc and cheater leg drive, I figured it would be right around 135 once you started benching the way real men bench.

Presented with living, breathing evidence - RIGHT BEFORE HIS EYES - in the acquisition of strength, he turned back to his pink dumbbells muttering “I’d be stronger than him if he were my size” under his breath.

I can’t believe this stuff happens in real life.
