tonight i finally found out what it feels like to drop a weight on my chest. unfortunately it had to be a heavy one.
the start of the training session went well. i hit some pretty good numbers. it was when i moved to floor press that i did the dumping.
i hit a solid set with 495 then i moved to a set with 455. i was shooting for a solid triple with that. i hit the first rep easy and then on the second rep i tapped the hook on the way up. then on the third i must have hit it pretty square on the way up and it literally knocked the bar right out of my hands. the platform is about 6 inches off the floor so, unfortunate for me, the weight landed square on my lower chest. my training partners said that the weight actually bounced off me and then came down again. it knocked the wind out of me. i layed there waiting for some real pain to start but it really didn’t come. i got up and the entire area started to tighten up but the pain was pretty manageable. i only wish that i had gotten it on video:)
i missed one rotation and then jumped back in. i dropped the weight considerably but finished out the session. my entire chest is tight right now and sore but i’m pretty sure that i didn’t do any serious damage.
anyway… enough of my whining. here’s what i did tonight.

Not only that Meat… count that sucker as a baseline PR!
Seriously though, glad you are not seriously injured. If you are pissin’ blood tomorrow… get your ass to a doctor. And take pictures, and post them of course.

I hope I don’t sound like a total mom but I hope you keep an eye on things.
I watched your floor press. How do you touch your chest on a floor press? Do you have an exceptionally thick chest or short arms or both? That was great to watch.

Yeah, be careful, but I want to see pictures of that wicked bruise you’ll develop.
ouroboro, of course he can touch his chest on a floor press - it’s about 6x the size of yours.

thanks for the concern. i’m sore as hell today but i’m sure i will be just fine.
i have t-rex arms and a thick chest. put the two together and my ROM is very small. it’s awesome for benching but deadlifting is a real pain in the ass.

(sorry, but really - that was just too easy.)[/quote]
i will definitely get some pics if it bruises up really nice. i have a whole collection of training injury pics. my favorite one is when i tore my adductor in my right leg. that thing bled out for two days. i was black, blue, purple and orange from my waste to my ankle.

if i did “play for the other team” i would definitely be a “hitter” not a “catcher”.
i have a strain in an intercostal now. now that the overall pain is going away, i have a severe pain in my right intercostal area… i was going to pull tonight but i’ll lay off until saturday.
how are you doing with your nasty case of vaginitis?? have you been soaking in a bath of berries and cream douche? then slathering up with equal parts vagisil and gynolotramin??
