Fat Free or Sugar Free Cool Whip?

Which is the better cool whip to buy? The store I went to didn’t have one that was both fat and sugar free, so I picked the fat free variety. Did I make the right choice?

I’m on a low-cal and really low, pretty much zero sugar diet. I wasn’t sure which to pick, so I just grabbed one and ended up with the fat free. I used half the coolwhip tub in the first batch of pudding (I skipped out on the pie crust) so that’s about 13 grams of sugar.

Thoughts?

Always go sugar free, especially on your current diet.

The sugar in a sugar-free item is usually replaced by an artificial sweetener whereas the fat in a fat-free item is usually replaced with sugar.

Use real whip cream, you know that stuff that comes from cows. Cool whip is nothing more than whipped hydrogenated oils - ie. manmade crap, also known as unfood. It blows my mind that you and I are the same height and weight - your front silhouette blows mine out of the water, dude. Nice work.

i agree. an unwanted rise in insulin would be worse than the few extra fat calories.

Amen to that. Plus heavy whipping cream tastes good too.

I don’t use it as a ‘food’ i use it to keep me sane while on a diet

Yea, bu tthe down side is that hydrogenated oils clog the shit out of your arteries, on top of creating an inflamatory environment in your body. Just get the sugar free whip cream - it’s really the lesser of the 2 evils, by a long shot. Peace.

Im pretty sure even the sugar free one contains hydrogenated oils…cool whip is garbage.

I agree. You don’t want to have any trans fat entering your body, period. Funny I just posted this link for another thread, but here it is again, make your own:

Heavy cream and heavy whipping cream have minimal carbs. Make just enough for your allocated fat or calorie count. Add cinnamon to it for flavor.
