Darkhorse: You can use this link to find the diet manifesto:
Strength Training, Bodybuilding & Online Supplement Store - T NATION or using the search box on the the current issue of t-mag page and enter “manifesto” as your search word. There are two links to the fat fast diet (as well as other diets). You may also want to consider ordering The Ketogenic Diet Book (or PDF file) from Lyle McDonald (theketogenicdiet.com). I just ordered it yesterday and am reading it—very detailed and seems to be well worth the price and he describes different types of keto diets. Good luck!
anybody on this diet? i’m on the 3rd day of a 2-week cycle over here… i’m actually not feeling too bad. joel marion’s 5x5 workout was great.
Hey, I’m on day 4 of my Fat Fast. Started at 207.5 @ 20% bf and am currently at 203.0 (water loss I bet). I’ve been using the HST workouts for bulking and thought I’d try it during my fast. My plan is 3 weeks of fasting to drop (hopefully) 15 lbs of fat. We’ll see though! I’m also using mag10, md6, t2pro, ALA and other vitamins. For most meals I’m eating a Grow shake (or something like it) and a bunch of fish oil capsules. I have to time the md6 carefully otherwise I can really feel my hunger cravings. Also, at night I’m taking 5-HTP to help with carb cravings and melatonin and ZMA to help me sleep. So far so good!
Day 8: I survived the memorial day weekend with only one deviant food item… a bowl of tapioca pudding with fresh whipped cream on top. Not bad. Still met my caloric range for the day actually. I’m down to 201 now and can see some subtle differences in the mirror. I’ve also noticed that being even 6 lbs lighter sure helps the quickness on the tennis court.
Anyone else still fasting?
I’m in, I started on Memorial day. I’m doing Finasol cycle, Thermogenics and T2 original, creatine, workout shake. The only carbs are in the workout shake. I’m getting most of my fat from fish oil caps which would be 60 grams a day. The rest comes from the meat products. My goal is 2000 calories a day. I had some trouble performing the meltdown training 2 so i’m rethinking what my workout options are. I’m trying to go from 202lbs 9% to 6% in 2 weeks while not losing any weight due to water lose or mass loss. I just hope this high fat stuff does not mess with my intestinal tract. I’m off from school only for this week so i can afford to stay home all day. But starting next week i start school again. I’ll keep you guys posted in a week and good luck to all. laters pk
Day 28: Bad news and good news. I had been down to my lowest weight last week, 200 lbs, but subsequently blew the diet. Not by a lot however. I was up to 205.3 yesterday, and this morning’s weigh-in was 202.8. I got caught up in some personal stuff and work related stuff, was depressed, and ate and drank things that I shouldn’t have. But still tried to watch myself…Again, two steps forward and a step back. Wasn’t able to get to the gym much either. Am now focused again. I don’t think I’m going to hit my goal by the 15th of June, but am going to try like hell to do so! I’ve also started using the 5x5 workout which is great…I feel like my muscle are doing something, finally! Question to all of you doing the 5x5 workout…how much rest do you take between each set? Is a minute not enough? Or is it better to start with 2 minutes and work down to 1 minute? Advice and support please! How is everyone else doing?
Day 37: Just under 200 pounds with about 23% body fat…it’s been going slowly and I seem to be plateauing a bit…but the numbers are still going down. Had a small cheat last night…some chocolate dove bites…and you know what…they didn’t taste as good as they used to! Am not missing or craving a lot of the carb things that I used to. Am in the gym again on a regular basis and doing more cardio so I’m hoping that the next 10 lbs goes quicker than the first 10…How about everyone else?
Day 19: I’ve lost 13 lbs of water and fat and (hopefully) no muscle. My workout strength is as good as ever considering I’m working out on an empty stomach in the morning… with the help of md6 of course. Using some t2 helped a lot this past week too.
As for cheating, I had two slices of pizza a few days ago but took a handful of psyllium capsules and 400 mg of ALA to counter the carbs and fat. I also took 400 mg more ALA before bed and got back into ketosis by morning. I did come close to my target cals that day too. Otherwise I’ve been pretty strict. Weekends are tougher of course.
Going to Vegas this weekend, not sure what to do about the buffets…
