Fat Boy in Need of Help

Don’t disagree, although I think the label for what he’s doing is just arguing over semantics. Everyone agrees he needs to clean up his diet. It makes sense for him to go with the diet first - but some beginners mess that up completely.

I think someone already addressed this, but make sure you’re getting enough protein - 1g/lb - and eating 1/2 cup to 1 cup of vegetables after every meal. Don’t count calories. If you count calories too drastically, you can end up lowering your metabolism. Only eat complex carbs and only eat non-veggie carbs after a workout. You should not be necessarily eating fewer calories at the beginning, just better food. And as OctoberGirl said, keep a log. Go back to the log every couple of weeks to make sure you’re still on track.

Yhea I can see that I just think hos best bet is simply clean things up Not cut but clean the diet see where that bring you along with hard training after a few months. Hopefully leaning up a bit and gaining gym performance.

Then sure address goals if its to in the end get bigger more LBM hell no need to cut, gain slow and smart.

yeah i don’t know why i put 40% it’s 24.46%. i found out today

25% isn’t nearly as huge a deal health wise as 40% but still 25% is up there. You’ve gotten pretty much all the advice you need. Eat cleanly but still maintain a high caloric intake. I think people actually try to eat too little when trying to drop weight which leads to a drop in metabolism. This can also lead to a host of mental barriers as your much more likely to binge when you do have a cheat meal.
