Glad you were able to get up and walk away…sheesh!
It’s actually hard to get up in a deadlift suit. That was just my cautionary tale to NL about pulling sumo. I’ve seen it happen a number of times to different people. I just happen to have the video of myself.
I’ve come close a couple of times since I’ve switched to sumo. It’ll happen one day.

Do it in the pirate suit. I’d pay to watch that. It really was awesome doing it both at nationals and worlds.

Wait, so what happened there? You fell backwards or did your knee lock out?..I’m confused. But it does look scary…

Nice deads Mainy! Switchin’ it up to conventional! booyah!

oh! o! I’ve nearly done that …but with a LOT less wt! and a lot less people around! I hate making mistakes like that becaause then you have to keep telling everyone “oh I’m fine I am!”
I’m still kicking myself for missing to on a dude who projectile vomited at the last meet i did… while i was in the car!

To my lovely N: Don’t sweat it frenchie. IT WILL COME BACK. IT DOES!! it takes a while to get back into momentum. you got a lot of stuff going on with your bod.

Maybe a focus on a movement that doesn’t directly involve your injured area? Like the cleans? Maybe if you distract your self for a while --while stuffs mending–with another goal you haven’t tried in a bit by the time you come back things will be better?

like…you can join the pull up team! or maybe get good at cleans or something different?

Also some days some wts just weight FAR more then they should! bastard elves get into the gym at night and change the numbers on the sides i swear…

I actually fall on my ass the first times I pulled sumo.

Joe - you need to find yourself a pretty piece and say you need a spot in case you fall backwards

Masch - sometimes a little switchup is all we need

Brute - I agree, focusing on something other than the big number would be a good thing.

Just wanted to update you guys on the photo gig. I had a contract Tuesday evening, someone was looking to have a business portrait done and was referred to me due to the calendar. My first paid gig! I kinda like the results too.

Tomorrow I am shooting an expecting friend. I love dem big bellies

Believe it or not in my gym I’m the big scarey meathead. Not likely to get pretty spotters.

When you turn your toes out for sumo deads it can be hard to keep your balance when you pull back.

Joe - bah! their loss.

Pixie - I just hope to have enough jobs to pay for those expensive photography toys. If I cut even at the end of the year I will be beyond pleased

Mims - thanks! and you can do pullups for the both of us. If there is one thng I suck harder than a hoover after a kids birthday party, it’s pullups.

enjoy your weekend everyone

well that goes for me with the pull ups. I’m still chasing the goal of being able to do just ONE. Admittedly have never consistently worked at it though.

Just wanted to say that I love the calendar! Great photos and the presentation is very professional.
I hope you can make some regular money doing something you love.

Haha, when it comes to the deadlift I don’t care about any weight difference. I want to be the BEST lol
