Fat, Bald, and D@%n Near 50

Wednesday morning workout

Barbell complex: 3x95x7, 105x7, 3x105x6
Treadmill interval: 20 minutes

I was in a masochist mood today. So I pushed myself on the complexes. Between them and the treadmill, I?m not much count at this very moment! I guess this is what we old fat guys have to do to get healthy? Work really hard and make folks ask, ?Why the hell are you doing THAT?? I did actually see a hint of deltoid definition in the mirror this morning. So I guess something is happening on the fat loss.

There is a rumor the sun will shine here today. Of course it?s so damn foggy here you could cut it with a knife! That will make the daughter happy. She loves a fog delay! Meanwhile her Daddy drives to work, and dodges the deer and the slow cars. HAHA not only does eastern NC stop when it snows; we slow the hell down when it?s foggy too!!

Wednesday night workout:

Bench press: 135x10, 205x5, 5x235x5
Dips: 4xbwx6
Straight bar triceps push down: 4x45x10
Plate raise: 4x35x8
Dumbbell power cleans: 4x35x8

I’m a sneaky bastid. The wife took the youngun to voice lessons, Daddy Willy went to the gym. Surprisingly enough the gym was quiet for a Wednesday. It was just me and a couple of other guys. It made for a good solid workout, especially after all the freaking computer problems I have been having the last few days. I’m so unhappy with Gateway. They sold their commercial side of their business to a company that has gone bankrupt. My warranty is null and void and no one offers support. I guess I’m in the market for an non Vista based 'puter. Seems Rockwell software and all my log and board scanning software doesn’t work with Vista.

You’re benches are looking good JW. Had a problem with my new puter and got to talk to “Barbara” in New Delhi Sunday. That was fun.

Yes, done that one too… I liked the Gateway support because you could do it online… Looks like another brand for me.

Thursday morning workout

Squats in the Smith: 135x10, 205x5, 225x5, 2x245x5
Dumbbell abs thingies: 3x35x20
Decline leg raises: sets of 25, 25, 17

I?m going to do Zerchers one leg day and the Smith the other. I think it?s about time to change the abs work. I may start some weighted crunches in place of the dumbbell things. The leg raises still kick my ass.

Some thoughts on the bench session last night. I think I?m successfully changing my technique. I have adjusted to a narrower grip. I have always done a wider grip bench, like a body builder. I?m trying to push toward my feet rather than my nose. I just can?t get the arch thing down. BUT my shoulder feels a helluva lot better!

That a lovely end of ?winter day? here, with highs in the 70?s.

Random thought of the day: Only time the world beats a path to your door is if you’re in the bathroom.

Check out Dell business computers, I believe you can get XP as an option.

On your benching technique squeeze your shoulder blades together/ and squeeze the bar closer like trying to touch your thumbs while holding the bar as you push towards your feet. Hope that helps.

Friday morning workout:

Barbell complex: 2x95x7, 95x8, 2x95x7, 95x6

Thursday evening workout:

Treadmill interval: 30 minutes

Complexes kicked my ass today. Maybe it was the hangover from a rather vigorous interval last night coupled with only a stick of celery and peanut butter afterwards. I just had no appetite. So this morning I had nothing in the tank for intervals after complexes. I had an intense session none the less.

First day of spring and hopefully consistent warm weather is on the way. Soon the Dogwoods will bloom, the skeeters will return, and then the swarms of yellow flies, deer flies and horse flies. AAAHHHH life will return to normal for the swamps of eastern NC!

Interesting thought for the day: Should vegetarians eat animal crackers?

good work, J
ol

Have a great weekend willy.

Our Provincial flower is the Dogwood. Here in Victoria we don’t have to deal with the bugs. Plus with all the flowers in this city the bees are to busy. I am so looking forward to the sunny hot days of spring and summer. Have a great spring!

Hey Streamline, The Dogwood is the state tree of NC. You would marvel at the blooms of the wild dogwoods as you walk thru the forests here while they are blooming.

Saturday morning workout:

OHP: 115x8, 2x135x8, 135x6
Assisted pull ups: BW-85 x5x5x4x4
Decline dumbbell row: 4x45x10
Lat pull down: 3x130x10, 130x7
Chest supported row: 2x105x10, 2x115x10
Hyperextensions: 3xBWx10

OHP?s and Pull ups were done as a superset. Thought I would try the decline rows as a lark. I added the hypers in just because. I guess there are no real rules to my training, thus no clear direction!

We sure had a heavy frost this morning! I was almost depressed when I rolled out of the house on the trip to the gym. It looks like the day is shaping up nicely weather wise. I have a lot on my plate today, order a laptop, clean the gutters, have my flowing locks shorn, aggravate my peeps, book a2 week business trip to China and Vietnam, as well as try to control my weekend diet?.

Random note of my life: My Grandmother is over eighty and still doesn’t need glasses. Drinks right out of the bottle

Its good you worked out on a busy weekend.
is Grandpa drinking milk or whiskey out of the bottle. Either way, at eighty good for him.

kmc

The Dogwood is very difficult to discribe, it has to be seen.

Frosty and -1 Celcius this morning as well. Got really nice later.

That would be Grandma and a bottle of sherry. Or that Southern mint drink, but that’s not in a bottle.

Keep it strong, that’s 26 ounces + the bottle!

Sunday morning workout

Bench press with bands: 135x10, 5x205x5
Declined dumbbell press: 2x75x7, 75x8, 75x9
Floor Press: 2x205x7, 205x5, 205x7
CGP in the Smith: 185x6, 2x185x7, 185x5
Treadmill interval: 20 minutes

I don?t know what kind of workout I had today. The weights felt heavy and I had to gut thru a few reps to keep from dumping the bar off my chest. I don?t feel as if I?m over trained. Maybe it was a bad day or the fact I was about to pull a tooth yesterday it hurt so badly. It could have been the stress of a likely visit from the mother outlaw?. Still, I left the gym used up, and in need of a big ole cup of coffee and chicory.

I am feeling a little boredom setting in. So change is coming. I made some boards for benching. Now I have to find the workout template I was going to use. Since my f*&king ?puter crashed I have yet to rediscover the template.

Day 2 of Spring and day 2 of heavy morning frosts! However today is an idyllic day on the river in eastern NC. The sky is blue and the sun is bright. The river is like a mirror. There isn’t a breath of wind. You can hear the birds chirping and Ollie Osprey is fishing. (He is fishing better than the bass fishermen on the river today. I have seen him haul 4 in already) Olivia Osprey is on her nest and getting breakfast in bed?. I’m damn sure glad my peeps are sleeping; they might get the wrong idea from watching Ollie and Olivia?.

Random thought for the day: Suicide is belated acquiescence in the opinion of one’s wife’s relatives.

Boredom will set in every now and again. Try something totally different for a month. Try adding a few outdoor workouts if you can. Something about being outside that makes it fun.

Might be time to take a few days off. Hard to have a good work out when your heads not in it.
Love the river early mornings when the mist is coming off it. Glad I’m not the only one gives names to the local wildlife.

Monday morning workout

Barbell complexes: 2x95x7, 105x7, 105x6, 105x8

I?m a conflicted slacker. I did the complexes upped the weight and tried to keep the total rep count up. I bailed on the intervals. Regardless I was whipped at the end of the complex routine. Slept like crap last night, so it was half way expected. Sometimes the Ambien just doesn?t work well.

Willy?s warped logic of the day: If at first you don’t succeed, then skydiving isn’t for you.

I feel you on the first days of spring downer syndrome. it is f&*%ing snowing here right now. I want my money back!!

anyway, youre doing fine. thats pretty aggressive work youre doing on the complexes, and it aint supposed to be easy. do you do any low weight/high rep recovery work? Ive started doing that when I get bad DOMS and it helps quite a bit. of course, most guys on here have been doing that for years, but I try not to catch on too fast.
train harder
old lardass

Oops sorry about calling Grandma Grandpa.

complexes are tough, tough tough, its hard to progess in them like another lift, so addig weight on those is much much harder.

maybe its time for a deload… I take time off all the time.
