Fat, Bald, and D@%n Near 50

Thursday night workout

Bench press: 135x10, 5x225x5
CG triceps pushdowns 4x45x13
Front plate raise: 35x10, 35x8, 35x7, 35x8
Seated dumbbell cleans: 25x10, 2x25x8, 25x7

I was home alone while the wife took the young’un to ballet. So off to the gym, with the Zumba ladies and some young boys working on their beach muscles.

I was benching 80% of my max. I was reading (yes willy does read) about not training to failure. I was also reading about training to achieve a certain rep count. SSSOO I guess I’ll try to incorporate this scientific stuff in my workouts. Now I need to change all my shit around. Yes I’m a chronic workout changer arounder.

Wow what a busy day today! Had to go to court to get a speeding ticket reduced. Had to buy and sell some lumber. Had to make all kinds of changes in the process controls system. Had to work on a deal to saw some logs imported from Africa.

I’m an order whore. We are considering anything to make a buck in this day and age!

Validation is always great! but have you had those people that ask you if you are OK because you’ve lost so much weight?

Keep on, keepin’ on! and don’t back slide like I have for the last few months.

Thanks brother Dog. Actually think the mass in my upper body I have added have quelled some of those questions. Keep on keeping on buddy. You are back in the saddle hard!

Friday morning workout

Barbell complexes: 5x105x7, 3x105x5, 2x105x2

No treadmill.

I woke up this morning with a need to torture myself. So I took it out on me with my complexes. I’ll be good and sore by lunch!

What a dreary day today. Cloudy and windy with a northeaster building. It looks like 3 days of this crap! Hopefully spring will be in full bore soon.

Speaking of weather… I noticed the morning weather mamma in the The Weather Channel is going to hatch another young’un. They sure have some extra fertile women on that channel!

I worked on a show for a year where 7 women got pregnant.
Its in the water.

whats in your complexs?
I do them like this

RDL, BO row, hang clean, OH press,
OH squat, lunges, squat

or for pchain blow out
RDL, OH squat, good morning, jump squat

Im doing a high pull, ohp, back squat and bent row, KMC I’m thinking about switching the complexes up a bit as well.

Saturday morning workout

OHP: 2x115x8, 135x8, 135x7
Asst. pull ups: 3xBW-85x5, BW-85x3
T-Bar Rows: 3x165x8
Lat pull downs: 3x130x10
Dumb bell Lat raise: 4x30x8
Chest supported Row: 2x115x8, 2x125x7

Typical Saturday morning. Well, except for the cold and rainy trip at 5 a.m. Once again OHP and pull-ups were done superset. That kind of waxes my ass first thing! Nothing like a challenge first thing in the workout.

I had a college flash back and downloaded Mother’s Finest on the IPod for the workout. I saw them about a half dozen times at this wonderful joint, PB Scott’s Music Hall. I’m not sure but I think PB’s was the root cause of my current hearing loss. Everyone says the loss comes from the sawmill. Little did they know how much I frequented that joint. I do know it was the root cause of my high rate of beer induced brain cell loss, and had a major influence on my GPA…

I need to stick with weightlifting…

As a friend of mine use to say about drunkness killing brain cells “yeah, but only the weak ones that wouldn’t have survived anyway”.
I’m back to keeping up with the threads. You’re having some good workouts.

You are on to something E. The Shriners ride Harley’s too!

Bench with bands: 135x8, 4 sets of 205x3x3
Decline dumbbell press: 75x10, 75x7, 2x75x8
Floor Press: 185x10, 3x205x6
JM in the Smith: 185x10, 185x8, 2x185x6

Treadmill interval: 24 minutes

I rigged the bands differently this morning. I anchored then to the floor with a set of 100# dumbbells. It made for an interesting tension. My working sets were sets of 3 spaced by a 10 second rest. I tried to blast the bar off my chest.

On the second set of dumbbells I Lost control and dropped a 75 pounder on my right moob. I don’t know exactly what I did, but it hurt my ego more than anything! I gathered myself, after instinctively glancing to see if anyone had seen me;even when I was the only person in the gym. I guess I was thinking I would see my reflection in the mirror laughing at Weak Willy on the decline bench. I gathered my composure and finished the set and workout.

I wonder if I’ll have a bruise this evening…

Monday morning workout

Barbell Complex: 3x95x7, 3x95x8
Treadmill interval 14 minutes

I pushed more sets and reps with the complexes. I ran out of gas with the intervals. I’m sure there is some reason I shouldn’t try to push the complexes as hard on ‘cardio day’ but I sure like them a helluva lot better than the intervals.

After a cold wet Pacific Northwest style weekend in eastern North Carolina, I am just about ready for some Spring weather!

Wow. Talk about a blast from the past. Everbody on my hall at UNCW used to blast the MF at the same time. I swear you could feel the bldg shake. I understand they are still together and played a gig in Raleigh recently. I guess the question about the bruise will be if the wifey beleives your story…

Your training is going well. That spring weather has hit Texas.Have a great week willy.

Looking like a good week so far.
nice work

Tuesday morning workout

Squats in the Smith: 135x10, 205x5
Zercher squats from the floor: 6x135x6, 185x4
Dumbbell ab thingies: 3x35x20
Decline leg raises: sets of 20, 17, and 10

Started in the Smith. Said the hell with this and tried the Zercher. Since we have no FREAKING rack in this gym I pulled from the floor. Next time I?m going to stack the step thingies up and make a platform. I worked the extra sets at 135; since I?m uncoordinated I just couldn?t handle 185. I really felt like a weakling. Still the Zerchers are in for a long while.

My laptop went FUBAR last night. I went to restore the system and apparently the backup didn?t take. 2 years of current emails, documents, production models, pricing models, and just stuff important to me are off into electronic dust in the cyber wasteland. So here I am rebuilding. As well as trying to remember to back my shit up!!

Were you elbowing from the floor or deadlifting to the knees and then elbowing it?

The former is MUCH harder. Best I’ve done from the floor is 185 and I just about defecated my colon doing it.

I feel for you on the backup issue. USB Thumbdrives can save your heinie.

I deadlifted to my knees and elbowed it. I tried from the floor. I ain’t never going to be man enough to do that!

The bad thing about the 'puter… is i have my own little place on our server. i was just too damn lazy to back my shit up!

I am living without a rack too,
its a low point.

that is the same way I do zerchers
sometimes I will pick them out of a bench.
they are not easy- but they so work
kmc

Looks like some pretty serious work, J. I am still very reluctant to try zerchers, due mostly to my sandy vag.

How is your weight loss going? I ask cuz mine really sucks.

I guess OK Mj. It is hard to guage. My weight is hovering around 230 to 234. The funny thing is I’m in a 36" waist britches, but I can button up a 34" pants.

I guess it’s going away. I sure hope so.
