Fast Food is Serious Business

My brother used to work at Wendy’s, and one hot summer day the Frosty machine broke.

The verbal abuse and indignity he was subjected to that day from fatties desiring their semi-solid frozen treat was almost unbelievable. He said that one particularly brazen tub of goo actually demanded that he drive to a neighbouring Wendy’s to purchase her a Frosty, while she waited. Another family of inbred rubes simply could not wrap their heads around the fact that there would be no Frosty that day, and kept repeating…PLEADING even…“Four frostys, you 'git us four frostys NOW!”.

Fast food is the same as crack to a lot of people, so I’m not surprised violence occurs.

i used to work at KFC… a girl can really develop a thick skin from an experience like that.

on busy days… like toonie tuesday, people would wait 2 hours for the soonest batch of chicken.

Here’s a conversation i once had with a delightful lady, after making her twister and we’re waiting on fries…

Lady: “you’re just gunna let the twister sit there and get cold?”

Me: “the fries will only be a minute, but i’ll put it in the warmer”

Lady: “no! it’ll only dry out in there! why dont you make it for when the fries are done!”

Me: “because i’ve already made it. i’m not going to make it again”

Lady: “i’m sorry is there a problem?”

Me: “i’m not the one who has the problem”

That day, i got a pin for customer service.

I’d be pretty mad if they were out of frostys. They’re damn good.

wow that kinda is an eye opener, i would have gotten mine at the get one, just kidding

Lol I used to work at a Wendy’s too. One of my favorites was the woman who complained that her sandwich didn’t look like the picture, after requesting it to be made a specific (different) way.

On the news here a bit ago some lady freaked out and punched through the drive through window because McDonald’s was out of chicken nuggets.

Also, this lady should be shot in the face: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FZ12Ry-hD6I

I worked at a McDonald’s that served vanilla AND chocolate ice cream in high school. One day, our ice cream machine broke and we had to get a new one. The new one only had vanilla ice cream. I spent about a week on drive through getting cussed out by people because they couldn’t have their chocolate ice cream. A few times I had to go get my manager to meet them at the window because they threatened me with bodily harm and/or death. One of the other girls was spit on over it and our store was vandalized during this time.

Gotta love those small town chocoholics!

I think I broke T-Nation somehow.

The thread managed to salvage itself though, LOL

People seem to forget that the kids working at fast food restaurants are human beings.

This is true for any type of customer service, i’ve found.

What assholes. If only this weren’t a politically correct society.

I lost a lot of jobs as a kid over stuff like this. Apparently, telling a customer to kiss your ass isn’t the way to handle the situation.

I took a lot from it though. Be polite, even apologetic, when the idiot in the back messes up your order. That’ll cut down on the amount of saliva in your new order.

human beings, they can be seriously pathetic at times. We should have a yearly cull to get rid of the garbage!

I don’t want a large Farva, I want a goddam liter of cola!

Good thing that over here, McDonald’s and the like are considered a kind of “treat” and eating at fast food joints is done 2-3 times a month, maybe once a week. For my generation, at least, I don’t know about the younger kids.

I went to a subway once and the were out of bread. At that point, I’m thinking they should have just gone home.
