Farve: No Greenies, No Roids, Old Guy

Its plain to see what happens to us old guys when we try to play at night, in the sub-zero weather, without any ‘assistance’. Hello, Brett! You are OLD!! The nimrods took away the good stuff and you have to try and make an old body work ON ITS OWN out in the cold.

Retire and become the Head Coach already! Jeeeeezzz…

Hey…watch your tone of voice…

But Headhunter! Don’t you know Brett Favre is the modern-day messiah!?

At least as far as the state of Wisconsin is concerned.

It’s hard to win when your Defense can’t stop the run and can barely even inconvenience an opposing WR, and your Offense can’t run the ball and gives up even trying to establish any running game far too early.

Favre obviously didn’t play a great game, but GB’s gameplan in crunch-time seemed to be nothing more than ‘everybody else stand around while we make Favre try to beat NY by himself’.
It’s neither fair nor accurate to say that Favre lost that game for GB.

Green Bay was fortunate to even force OT; NY outplayed them big time down the stretch.

I’m a lot older than him but I know that the later it gets, the worse I can do things. I no longer spar in tournaments (sad) because BBs spar at the end. After poomse and judging all day, trying to keep the 18 year olds from killing one another, I’m tired. Now go spar a guy 18 years younger! Ouch!!

I know he hates the idea of getting old, but…wtf…the alternative (death) is worse!

Not in my house. I’ve never been a big Farve fan, mostly because, as last night demonstrated so well, he can’t seem to kick that rookie throw the ball into triple coverage/hail marry is always plan B state of mind.

Dude, I absolutely love the packers, am a huge fan, have been since I could watch and truely understand the sport. Absolutely love favre but could not agree with you more. EVERY TIME I see him rolling around in the back field for 3-4 seconds and see him launch that ball I KNOW that it’s going into triple coverage…It’s like he doesnt care…

I remember the playoff game against the eagles a couple years back, you know, the 4th and 26 game…I ended up crying myself to sleep that night…anyway, he threw a deep ball interception and the camera gave a close up on his face and his emotions showed like he knew it was going to be picked and that he didn’t even care. Such a great QB but those throws blow my mind.

Contrl, I love your input on stuff…everytime I read your responses I have to give a little non homosexual chuckle.

The problem is people want it both ways.

Last week against Seattle, he had that falling down, underhand toss completed for a key first down to Donald Lee. He was praised for taking a chance and being “vintage Favre.” But if he takes that same chance and it gets intercepted, it’s suddenly time for it to hang it up.

And for the record, the loss to the Giants was a coaching loss.

If he got hurt this year he would probably retire. So why is he still trying to play? he must want to get hurt.

What kind of logic is this?

favre will be a better quarterback at 60 then you ever were, are or hope to be.

I agree with you. I love watching him make those vintage favre throws and you’re right, if they get intercepted everyone criticizes him for it. Im only talking about his deep balls into triple coverage as a last ditch effort. Not cool watching that ball soar through the air into 3 defenders and a wide receiver that’s shitting his pants because he now has to more than likely defend the pass rather than trying to catch it.

This smells of ghey. Why not write, ‘Brett’s my boyfriend and I love him and he’s twithe the man you are or ever will be.’

Seriously though, how old do I get to be when he’s 60? I’m curious if I’m like 27 and he’s 60…would he really be better than me? Assume I played QB in high school and my team went like 6 and 5…

Also…how can he be a better qb than I hope to be ??? I got high hopes !!!

I miss the old days when the guys could ‘greenie’ up and go blast each other. Also when they could hit DBol HARD during season and play with some real intensity.

Not much, but pro football is just a little bit looking somehow like soccer. Don’t know why, but w/o the gear and greenies, it just isn’t the same anymore.

But, WTF, I’m a Browns fan…we’re all nuts!!

I don’t think he does it now, but Favre was more than happy to vicodin it up in the old days, hahaha!

agreed on all points but I also add that it was a discipline loss.
Favre- Discipline not to throw that pass
special teams- fall on the damn ball. Everyone wants to get on sports center. late 4th quarter, you punt, receiving team fumbles, you lack the discipline to fall on the ball and have it at the 40, needing only 15 yards to get in decent field goal range.
