Bike Ride with my wife. Nice and leisurely with picnic by the river. 15 mile round trip.

P.M

Shoulder warm up circuit

Band pull aparts x 20
Band dislocates x 20 (twice through without rest)

Flat Bench Press @ 220 lbs x 8-8

Standing DB Press @ 49.2 lb’ers x 10-10-10

Pushdowns @ 91 lbs x 10-10-10

Face Pulls @ 60 lbs x 10-10-10-10

Band ext rotations x 10-10-10 (each arm)

Cable hip abduction @ 11 lbs x 10-10-10

Seem to be spending a lot of my training time doing rehab exercises lately.

The bench went OK, not struggling yet. Looking forward to deads tomorrow.[/quote]

That area looks lovely. It kind of looks like where BB and I went for a bike ride a couple of weeks ago. We sat by a pond in the woods that had about 500 iridescent green dragonflys. It was beautiful. We brought a couple of cans with us to enjoy while we sat there

btw, you guys all suck with your talk of ab work. Now I feel like I should do some more and I really do not like.

Good looking pulls, see what i mean 8 sets of 8, crazy…

That river deep enough to swim in? 363 lbs x 8-8? It hurt my fingers just typing that. Are you looking a little more svelt or is it just the lifting attire?

363 lb deadlift is REHAB??? Must have missed something here.

Brett- love the video those are some rock steady pulls…but we need to talk…8x8? have you gone mad? Awesome stuff! Keep it up.

^seriously FB. That’s crazy volume, but I like it!!

I was going to mock you for using straps but you’d pretty much have to for doing 8x8. Thats a lot of pulling.

Whooped it’s ass!! Great pulling FB.

O - The pond sounds lovely. That is a lot of dragonflys, did you notice there seemed to be more and more of them the more cans you emptied?

German - Now look what you’ve started. It was “2” sets of 8 (8-8) not 8 sets (8x8) LOL. Shit!! Now I feel like I didn’t do enough! It’s a Coan routine which calls for just two top sets after warm ups, a bit less than I have been doing.

Harry - It’s deep enough in places, but because it’s fast flowing it never warms up. It’s always “bone achingly” cold.

Cav - The deads aren’t rehab, just the cable hip abduction, band pull aparts, band dislocates, face pulls, ext rotations…blah…blah…blah

OG and late - Nah sorry only two sets not eight. Damn I feel like a lousy quitter now!

Joe - Mock away! My mixed grip is fairly strong, it’s definitely not my limiting factor on deads. My double overhand is OK for singles or doubles, but it’s not great for endurance (high reps), hence the straps. I only use mixed grip for PR attempts because I can’t get past the feeling that it’s an unbalanced, twisted movement that I don’t want to do a lot of.

dday - Shit, not another one. Complimenting me on work I didn’t do. Ha ha! Thanks anyway buddy.

very good technique!!

solid work.

and you are looking a bit leaner and swolener

Well you still pulled those 2 sets very nicely.

Oops, sorry big fella. You were in legendary status for a minute…lol

Brett don’t matter 2 sets or 8 sets…honestly to my eye those were some very best, under control, smooooooooooooth ass deads I have seen…I instantly said " my deads dont look like that"

by the way I lived in London for 5 years and used to get to Wales 4 or 5 times a year…nice countryside…and people!

Very good looking pulls Brett, nice and tight to the body.

Looking super diesel in the vid broheim, nice pulling!

Well it was nice while it lasted!

Kev, dday, un42, matty - Thanks for the praise guys. I appreciate it.

OG - That’s interesting. What were you doing here? Where abouts in London? and where did you visit in Wales? I was born in London (Harrow. Left when I was 10) and now live in the Brecon Beacons.

Friday night.

15/07/2011

Hill Sprints 10 x 35 yds.

Left longer rest periods so the sprints were better quality (faster).

Any other gullible fools jump headfirst in to a shitload of ab rollouts after being influenced by German’s video? My abs are still killing me from Thursday and I can categorically tell you that abs play a massive part in sprinting, no MRI scans necessary.

Put my heartrate monitor on in bed on Saturday night and took my resting pulse rate. It was 46 bpm, that’s the lowest it’s ever been, even when I was a “cardio bunny”. Seems the cycling and sprints are having the desired effect. Rewarded myself by having two enormous bowls of bread and butter pudding with cream tonight.

So probably already back up over 50!!

my resting HR has never been that low even when I was 180#s and doing a lot of mountain biking a few years ago. it’s typically in the 60’s right now

You’re a super fit stud. Thats all there is to it. At 21 I had a documented 41 heart rate on ekg.

nice deadlifts. i did some, too. but i didn’t quite get to that amount of weight
