You may have noticed my gym is beginning to fill up with furniture. Sacrilege!!!. We should be exchanging contracts tomorrow. About bloody time. Just had a phonecall from our buyers assuring us that everything is going ahead and that they are still really keen. That’s a huge relief and they want to move on the 27th of this month.
We have decided because it is now so late in the year that we will start our European tour in the spring, we just don’t fancy doing it in the winter. This means that we will be moving in to the Barn, our little holiday cottage (we have sold the farmhouse with 3 1/2 acres and kept the converted barn with an acre). We will store all our furniture in the workshop/gym. I’ve managed to shift all my lifting gear in to a one corner of the gym and should just about have enough space to keep lifting until we go.
My lifting will probably take the form of 1 week on 2 weeks off or something like that because we have a lot of family and friends to visit before we move abroad. Something we haven’t been able to do much of over the last 10 years because of being tied down by the animals (not literally, although some of those sheep can be a bit wily).
I’m sure I can still make gains or at least maintain on this schedule. Anyway, anything will be better than nothing.
We feel so incredibly fortunate to have sold in this current climate. We are so happy.

That looked painful. Get back to us in a few days, I’d like to know how your legs are doing.
Edit Just saw your post about selling the farm, that’s great news! Happy that you’ll be around here for a bit longer as well.
Glad im not the only one doing some nice slow pause work, are you going to do the opposite too? Hold the count at bottom and go up? Its killer on the BSS and other leg work…but the regular squats feel so easy after that.
Have you tried the BSS with bare feet? can grip the floor better. G had me holding a KB up at chest/chin and balance was easier that way too.
Great on sale, we sold our house and it feels good to be free of all that stress.
for your banana-hammock, I might suggest something in a tasteful snakeskin pattern.
those slow eccentric squats look stupidhard. i’m not doing them. Strength is overrated, especially when you’re as clever as I am.
congrats on the status of the sale of homestead. I don’t know what its like in your neck of the woods, but I assume its a tough market like here. I’d not like to be selling a house this year.
Sounds like everything’s coming up daisies, all filled with butterflies and unicorns and shit.
the slow eccentrics look interesting. if my squat doesn’t go up soon i might have a go at those… slow eccentric chins really helped me develop strength for the concentric, anyway, so same principle, i guess.

What possessed me to put that in my own log?
I’ll contact the Mods and see if they can shift it to Bulldog’s.
Three words …OH HELL NO!!!
Why is little old me getting dragged into this depravity? I’m a innocent bystander!
Whoops sorry. All that talk of Musicals I guess I jumped to conclusions.
BN - Thanks mate.
dday - Legs feel fine, unfortunately. The first time I did the slow eccentric work it got me really, really sore. Now it doesn’t seem to. I think it’s stopped working already. And thanks, it was nice of you to say that.
Up - I read some stuff about how slow eccentric work is good for the knees and the fact that you use less weight makes it easier on them too. The fact that G has you doing slow eccentric stuff is great, it adds more credibility to what I’m doing.
Congrats on finally getting sale done. Probably about as tough as getting a good job.
Love your Family Guy clip! Yes, that’s exactly how you Brits sound, with such silly words. I recall Monty Python had a lot of fun with silly Brit talk.
