I just started watching “The Family Guy”! (So sue me!)
I’m intrigued by the baby, Stewie (He’d probably call me a bitch for calling him a baby!)
So is his thing:
He hates his mother?
He wants to take over the World and
Everyone in the World and around him are idiots?
(He sure does have a patient Mom!)
Any more insights?
(P.S. The show a) cracks me up and b)is definitely not “PC”!)
The Late Lion!
Stewie is the shit. No one in the family can understand what he says but the dog. Everyone else on the planet seems to understand him just fine.
Past that, you are fucking late as hell on this one. Family Guy has been a great show for a LONG time.
Family guy is funny, but I’m not sure you can call it great. The writing is mediocre at best, and the only reason it’s funny is because of the randomness/absurdity/crudeness. Someone else said they get tired of it after a few weeks, I feel the same way. Also, after the first 2 seasons Stewie was no longer an evil genius with an unlimited arsenal, toned down his accent and got ALOT gayer. funny show but way overrated.
Yup. Watch South Park. Smarter and a HELL of a lot funnier.

Hold up. South Park is “smarter”? I can’t stand South Park so I may be biased…but I sure as hell don’t remember feeling intellectually stimulated at all by any episodes. I do remember seeing talking flying poop. Maybe that was the “smart” episode. Perhaps it was Big Gay Al pushing those IQ points up a notch…or some fat kid yelling, “BeefCake!!!”.

South Park’s not smarter. The social commentary in family guy is much sharper and more subtle. South Parks’ funny, but everything is very obvious.
I think anyone who dismisses Family Guy by saying it’s stupid either hasn’t watched it or isn’t intelligent enough to get half the jokes, and they miss out on every thing the smart people find funny.
Morans.
That’s right, I spelt ‘morons’ wrong to get my point across.

I’ve already stated that family guy is highly overrated, but South Park is not a “smarter” show. Now that I think about it, family guy seems to be a blatant knock off of the Simpsons with a little South Park absurdity thrown in to district one from noticing what it really is: Just ok.

Um yeah…it’s only the fourth time in this thread alone. I think we get it now. Can you clarify one thing for me though? Do you think Family Guy is overrated?

If there is one thing that I think is highly overrated, it’s the Family Guy. That show the Family Guy is really overrated. Some would even say highly overrated. Like me. I say it’s highly overrated. Highly.

I dunno, the Peter vs Chicken thing is over blown and not funny IMO, kind of irritating for me.

…apparently you missed the one where they re-enacted they entire fight scene from “They Live”…
Loving this thread! I was soooo pissed when they originally took FG of the air. South Park is great as well, but definitely not “smarter” than Family Guy. LMFAO at all the youtube links…

I won’t support the “smarter” comment, but it sounds like you stopped watching South Park in its early days. It has changed a lot since then and now is a bit more relevant to current events/pop culture than Beefcake and Mr. Hankey.

Stewie’s gayness was never on display more than in the episode with Brian’s son. There was no ambiguity involved whatsoever.
IMO, Stewie was gayest when he answered Chris’ blind date ad on Long John Peter.
I have the benefit of recently seeing a lot of episodes that cover probably 8 years. I can see where the Producers and Writers were experimenting with Stewie’s sexuality.
The conclusion was to make his sexuality “ambiguous” for greater creative flexibility.
And as Stewie would probably say:
(In that heavy British Accent!)
