I read Eyewitness to Power by David Gergen, a non-partisan presidential advisor to bother democratic and republican administrations. Reagan was similar to Bush as he had the tendency to just let his subordinates do all the work while giving as little insight as possible though Reagan wasn’t as ideological and more realist driven as demonstrated when he raised taxes, same with his successor.
Gergen, huh?

No wonder.

You need to get out more. It’s fine to read Gergen, even though I don’t think much of the guy, but that’s like saying you know all about weightlifting because you read a book by Joe Weider. Big fucking deal.
Do you ever offer anything of substance in your arguments, or are condescension and “I’m lots older than you!” your only weapons?

I’m not a fan of Obama on a lot of issues but at least he’s not a raging homo for Jesus like Palin and Romney were.

When Republican drop theocracy from their platform then I’ll consider voting for them since I actually do agree with them on a lot of domestic issues.

Could you expound upon the dangers of being a Jesus homo?

Because obviously you must feel their consequences are worse than those of Obama’s positions on domestic issues.

The standards for the office of presidency are too high for dumb shits who don’t even believe in evolution or think that the Earth is in the center of the universe.

I don’t really like Reagan. I think most Republicans who accuse democrats of worshipping Obama fail to realize they constantly swing on Reagan’s nuts and act like he magically solved all of our nation’s economic problems and single handedly brought down the iron curtain.

He wasn’t a bad president, he certainly played his cards rights but Christ is he overrated.
I’m not a fan of everything he did, but the man wasn’t a half bad president, and oversaw the beginning of an economic & technological explosion in this country that stands out as one of the most impressive that has been seen in a long, long time.

If you really wanted to you could look through just about every presidential term and find things you agree and disagree with, and as long as one isn’t a partisan hack, you will see policy that worked and failed within each.

I would be hesitant to call him overrated as a whole. But at the same time I would caution either party to hang their hats on Reagan or Clinton as examples of their party’s brilliance for all things POTUS.

I will go out on a limb and say any “informed” independent voter that voted Bam the second time around (I can understand the first) isn’t nearly as informed as he or she says they are. Either that or they are lying about being independent.

But not too high for people who want to spend us into oblivion tanking our economy and job market and who royally fuck up healthcare and who think social security is still a good idea?

I doubt either of them think the Earth is literally the center of the universe lol. I dunno maybe they actually don’t believe in evolution. To me though, if you take someone who believes in evolution and can successfully run the country as opposed to someone who doesn’t and runs the country like a misguided child, who is really benefiting by keeping the first guy out?

Can you point out where either person you mentioned believes those things?

And LOL @ thinking the GodKing meets the “standards for the office of the presidency” but someone else doesn’t simply because they aren’t shy about their faith.

Was he? He might’ve been since he had a long ass career but I’ve never heard of him actually doing weight lifting competitively.

I’m pretty sure Sarah Palin said she believed in the literal word of the bible and Romney was such a milque toast push-over he would’ve done whatever the Christian right told him.

Look, I don’t think Obama has done a good job. I don’t like Obamacare, and I don’t like his continuation of many of Bush’s neoconservative policies.

The fact is though is that he supports the seperation of church and state and the Republicans who have run against him do not and that is an absolute deal breaker. No other policies can override that.

Go ahead and accuse me of being a single issue voter if you will but it’s no different than how 99 percent of Republicans vote strictly on abortion since they’re such fetal fetishists.

He started out as a weightlifter. I believe he even aspired to go to the Olympics. In your defense (I dunno why I’m defending you), pretty much everyone back in the old days started out as an oly lifter; I know nobody remembers Weider for that. He even wrote some articles on the Olympic lifts though.

Fair enough, don’t know if he wrote any books about it though.

Unless the universe is spherical, there is no center. That also indicates the assumption that the contents are static.

No books. Just a few articles.
