2 Hours of Judo mostly coaching and teaching.

How do you like teaching? I really enjoy it.

Luckily not the first time I’ve taught. Having given it a lot of thought, I decided to pursue a coach’s certification for Judo so I can begin working toward opening my own school. So I’d have to say I really enjoy teaching.

1.5 hours of Judo mainly mat work with me being uke, but some throwing practice.

Does the weights help with the judo,and welcome.

Hi Bruce, the weights are a definite help. Especially when I give up 20-50 lbs to an opponent (which seems to happen more often than it should.)

Got to gym late didn’t get ab work or kb swings done.

Don’t worry about the ab work as long as you get the money exercises done.

Strange - I work my abs hardest when I do chins. Can’t stop curling my legs up for some reason.

Cav, I’d bet you’re an overachiever. Are you working up to “L sit” Chin ups?

Not intentionally. I try to keep legs underneath, but they want to keep rising - don’t know what’s going on. I’ve actually had abs really sore from chins.

Reminds me of a gym I went to in Los Angeles, when I lived there. Some equipment outside. A really nice day, one guy stripped to waist. Talk about ripped. He did chins with legs totally horizontal. Then he did dips with legs out as well. Perfect control. His belly looked like the underside of an egg carton.

1.5 hours of Judo including working with some of the younger kids, working with one of the BJJ guys on matwork and several good rounds of randori.

Got some good stuff going on here. Your cardio/endurance must be through the roof. I vaguely remember my wrestling days. Hells bells, the late 70s and 80s are still blurry. I could pull off wrestling and lifting when I was 16-20. There’s no way in hell I’d be do both on the same day today.

You reference lifting on a base. What branch?

Air Force for now. We are at Wright Patterson AFB, Ohio. However July 1 we will be at Ft. Jackson, SC.
