F@#king Love Handles Won't Go Away

Im finally down to 7% BF. I have a Desecent 6 pack, but can't rid these fucking love handle.

I’m still doing CKD and CT’s Superhero program with 20mins HIIT. I currently wieght 194lbs with 178 lbm.Lucky for me, I haven’t lost any Muscle mass since I started back in October 09.

I was thinking it was time to switch to Carb Cycling and Do CT’s War Room Stratigies plan.

I figured putting carbs back into my diet will help put some muscle in areas of interest.( Back,Shoulders,Arms,Gluts, Lower Abs, and Upper Chest)

I have been looking at various sources for Carb Cycling. In one post some said that CT doesn’t recommend his Carb Cycling codex anymore.

If thats true, What is recommend for Fat loss Carb cycling( STILL TRYING TO RID OF MUFFIN TOP).

You want real fat loss? Cut out carbs completely (except for veggies and maybe some fruit before your workouts). Substitute fat for the calories that you lose by cutting out carbs. By teaching your body to process fat as its primary energy source, you’ll lean out even more.

Also, I don’t know if you are, but overworking your abs, especially your obliques, can delay progress/fat loss in those areas and can give you a blocky looking waist.

I also find it hard to believe that your at 7% BF and have a muffin top.

My thought exactly! Most people don’t realize how lean 7% is.

OP: What method did you use to get this reading? Regardless of what the method showed you, you have more to lose if you want to eliminate those love handles.

I know what you mean. I’ve been bulking with great success. When I sit down the rolls really start to show. I understood some extra flab was on the way beforehand, but the trade off for way more overall size>ectomorph like with abs that show was too great to pass up.

This quarter I will focus on them a little more now that I’m recovered from labrum surgery on Dec 9th.

Yes I am quite familiar with how Ketosis works. Remember I have been following the CKD ( Cyclic ketogenic diet)

As for the over working the Abs, I am doing Ct’s superhero plan which requires ABS after ever workout. But before that, I used too work out my Obliques like a Madman.( I finally realized there is no such thing as spot fat rmoval)

I used the 3 site caliper method. I know the 7 site is more accurate, but I only have 2 hands.
I also find it hard to believe that I have this “BUILT IN FLOATATION DEVICE” on my back.

I have always had this problem. I am starting to think that I will have a full blown 8 Back before I get rid of them.

Obviously you don’t understand it well enough if you are having trouble getting rid of love handles. Reading something and using it successfully are to totally different things. Diet is the most important part of body composition, so your going to need to make big changes there if you really want to reach your goals.

Personally, I only work abs maybe once or twice a week tops. Diet is the fastest way to your abs. Workout routine plays second fiddle, just make sure your busting your ass in the gym 4-6 times per week.

Yea probably.

Some people carry stubborn fat on their chest or legs, or lower back, or arms, or belly. You just happen to have it in the spare tire region.

Do you have enough muscle to even get as lean as you want? Because obviously you are not “made” to be super lean. So you need to add muscle to make your metabolism better.

FUCKING BINGO BONEZ!!! I think we are on the same page.

I figure putting some Muscle(adding an 1 1/2) on my back will raise the skin and take tighten some of that skin.

What do you guys think of my Carb Cycling and War Room plan?

I don’t know how valid it is, but Poliquin’s “biosignature” stuff might be of some use/interest to you. I recall a while back in an T-Nation article that thibs was talking about stubborn back fat being a sign of insulin resistance according to Poliquin’s biosignature stuff or something like that.

Once again… I already have my Abs showing( the top 4 clearly above the navel, and some visiblity on the mid Abs) unflexed. My problem seems to be more genetic. Plus keep in mind that I was FFB of 230 lbs with little muscle mass for most of my life.

Trust me when I say my transformation is something that doesn’t go unnoticed by those at the Gym, work, and family member

Ill look into it. Thanks

post a pic of the abs/problem fat areas, and we can probably help you better.

I’m ~7-8% in my estimation and have love handles too :frowning: Fat loss products with yohimbine (hcl) are supposed to help get rid of stubborn fat at least in the hips, so I don’t know if this would work for love handles, but it may be worth a shot. Pics?

Post pic. If you are 7% then they are not love handles but prominent obliques or you have some kind of mad body dis-morphia. If they actually are love handles, then you probably have > 14% BF.

He already said that he only used a 3 point caliper test.

Which means he has no idea what his bodyfat % is. And neither do you. Everyone carries fat differently.

But you are right that someone with a true 7% (determined by a DEXA scan) wont have love handle fat.

True… Im sure that the 3 point calipers are not accurate.( since my fat is on my sides) I only used it to check my progress.( better than nothing)

As for the picture. This is from a 2 months ago. I made way more progress since. I am about 202lbs.Not the best looking pic i know. But it shows my problem area.
