Extreme Morning Nausea

Hello all,

My wife had been experiencing extreme nausea in the morning (already checked for pregnancy) and we cannot seem to figure out what is causing it.

She does have a sinus infection and the resulting post nasal drip may be the cause, however it is pretty severe, she cannot even function until about noon.

Are there any other illnesses that may be the cause?

Is she drinking enough water?

What did the doctor day?

Yes, given her activity level and bodyweight.

The doctor seemed to confirm that the post nasal drip was the cause, therefore my wife was perscibed phinagren(sp?).

My concern is that the early morning vomiting is a result of anxiety about having an episode of early morning vomiting. Sort of a snowball effect.

But, I realize that it could be something else as well, such as GERD or another gastro intestinal disorder.

Any advice is appreciated and considered.

That is what I am afraid of, how would one go about correcting such a problem.

this isnt going to put you at ease. but at the start of the year I couldn’t keep anything down in the morning if i ate it 10 minutes later i’d be having my head in toilet, i’d literally be waiting until atleast 11 before my stomach could handle anything even then it was only a small meal, found out i had an infection at the top of my stomach and blister(i’m not sure if this part is right, it was either this or something real similar) all across my bowels

the doctor gave me some pills that made it easier to eat in the morning after about a week it was ok a month later i could eat whatever i wanted without worrying about throwing up

you might want to try some crystallized ginger you can find in the spice aisle. That is good for combatting nausea.
