Experiences with a "Reload"?

I’m being forced to take some extra days off due to after a volume deload somehow feeling worse in my shoulder/biceps. Even though i’m only around early intermediate i’ve been consistent since the turn of the year with no real deload other than the odd day off. In that time I went on a cut losing 15-20lbs and went straight back into progression. Big mistake as i’ve found out.

Just wondered if any of you have ever incorporated one. Even if unintentional, and how it went?
