Take the guesswork out of it and learn a bunch during the process. If your serious spend the cash to hire someone like Shelby. I found carb cycling to be very user friendly. Well worth the $$. Worked for me.
I definately agree. I am going to give it a shot on my own, and if I dont make any progress or at the rate I want, I am going to hire Shelby. I think its $350/12 weeks, not too bad.

Dave - Thanks for the compliment. What kind of results do you get from low carbing, as far as pounds lost per week, or however you track it? I know everyone is different, thats what I am trying to find out in this thread, what everyone else is doing, and what kind of progress they are seeing.
My only issue with carb cycling is that on high days, I feel a little lethargic from the carbs, and on low days, I feel the usual “no carb fog” that people feel. Does this ever go away with carb cycling? From reading someting CT wrote, he made it sound like every low carb day would be hell during carb cycling.
I know once I broke through the first 5-6 days low carb, I felt great. I would rather just low carb again if I am going to feel like crap on low days using the carb cycling approach.
Personally I do Great when I low carb provided I keep my fats nice and high. I lose a pound per week normally maybe a little more (of pure body fat, you loose a good amount of water as you know) I also feel like crap for maybe the first week when I low carb but after that I feel great. I have heard of other people that have that same problem with Carb cycling on high days. I guess it just depends on how you tolerate higher carb days after being depleted on others.
Sounds to me like going low carb is what will work best for you. Lift heavy to keep your muscle and be deciplined on your Diet and youl have great results. Good Luck! ![]()

This is a good Idea! Can’t go wrong with Shelby. See how you do on your own first! 350/12 weeks is a SOLID Deal
Dave - I think using Shelby’s guidelines for carb cycling, I can avoid feel that keto fog I used to feel. His guidelines allow for much higher carbs, it is by no means a low carb deal (at least from the articles I ahve read).
Earlier, I was trying to follow CT’s guidelines for carb cycling (I believe it was from one of his articles) and it was really low carb on a low day. This caused my mood and stuff to swing way too much throughout the week.
Yesterday was a high day for me, today was a low day, and its still enough carbs to keep me from feeling like crap.

-I think you are doing just fine bro. Esp. if you are trying to maintain your size or even gain any if that is your goal. My only thoughts were a bit of water retention…but I doubt it. Drink plenty of water and get in about 35g of fiber per day. And you probably already know this…good luck! ; P
Thanks for the input. Yeah in the pic I am probably holding alot of water because I was coming off about a week of a fairly high carb diet (trying to just eat normal for a week before I transitioned into another diet).
On the fiber note, without supplementing, I had 57g yesterday!
Smithers, It sounds like this is the best fit for you then! Stick with it as long as its working. The problem with being on the really low carbs is not only will you feel like Crap on some days your Training will suffer! And we don’t want that. So Id say if your feeling this approach go for it. I don’t think it will take you long to lean up at all. Keep us in the loop on how the progress goes.
On another note 57 GRAMS OF FIBER. that awesome trust me thats what is really going to keep you full and keep things moving :p. Keep it up Brother! ![]()
