Exercises Worth a Look

Hey guys,
I was thinking about my workout today and I realized that several of my favorite movements are ones that I’ve just recently acquired. Let’s throw the newbs some more-obscure exercises that they may not have tried but are well worth their time.

For me it is:

  1. Snatch-grip dead lifts:
Holy shit, after doing these, my entire body feels like a train hit it. Everything from my neck to my knees is definitely beat to hell by this exercise. I credit this exercise with helping me gain some excellent back mass.

  2. One legged squat:

Stand on a bench, stick one leg out, hold your hands up and squat. I can almost guarantee you that you are imbalanced. I think this exercise is probably the most crucial to my lower-body health.

  1. Zercher Squat:

One of the less common squat variations, but I’m sure only the newest of the newbs won’t have tried this one. Personally, I like it better than Front/Back squatting. Like the snatch-grip dead, it really kills the secondary muscles.

Please throw out as many more as you guys can think of.

No idea if I’m missing something here, but why on earth would you stand on a bench or this one (instead of the floor). Unless you want to let the other leg/foot dip below the level of the loaded one.
