Excuses

Well if bodybuilders looked like your avatar in the off-season instead of that obese,fat-ass, low life Jo-Jo maybe they wouldn’t get such a bad rep. ;}
I think you’re confusing body builders with power lifters.

Blowjobs?

Just kidding. Couldn’t resist.

By the way, I agree with the Original Post.

I think I was kidding.

Prof-

… You have put a lot of time into this site and I hope you know it hasn’t gone unappreciated. I have benefited from your input as I am sure many others have as well.

Thank you.

What he said.

I do appreciate that.
I too appreciate all of your advice and definitely respect the progress you’ve made.

I guess I’m an ass kisser as well.

Hard to tell around here sometimes. Some dudes seem to think they’re fat if they don’t have a six pack showing.

Yeh, it was just a reference to an old thread where someone called said bodybuilder an “obese low life” where he was all of maybe 12$ BF.

X posted pics of him taken the same day where he still had visible abs.

It looks like Trib was right after all.

This is exactly what I’m talkin about. Another room for sports/fitness/athletics/whatever might clear a lot of this crap up. There’s nothing abominable about those things, but they ain’t bodybuilding, I don’t think even by TC’s definition. That is I don’t think.

It isn’t. I wish could find that article where he described what bodybuilding is and what this site is about, but that would take one very long search through the archives.

Too many here are trying to change “bodybuilding” into meaning “anything you want it to be EXCEPT building large muscles…because that’s bad and dysfunctional”.

It is like they praise minimal progress by making those who make the most progress in terms of physique change the bad guys.

After I read your post, did some searching and came up with the above.
Good find.

Well when it comes to genetics mine for symmetry straight up suck. My rib cage didn’t even grow symmetrically.

I was a healthy little slut though…and she got paid in return.

Did you really want to use the word “little” here?

If you say so, but I would have to examine the evidence for myself.

I’d make ya dinner baby!

…and I’d be there. Let me know when you’re in Houston.

You might have to cook extra though.

How the HECK do you do that?! I pay thru the nose.

I do agree though–it’s about finding a way. I really don’t spend money on anything but food, supps, bills, and weekend drinks. I’m pushing it right now with the supps, but I can make it through on a grad student payrate.

And I’ve gotta toss in my so-called “ass kissing” to the Prof as well. He saved me a lot of pain years ago when I first started posting. I’d been reading the site since 2001, and posted a few times on stupid questions (before my official join date listed) His advice has saved me some major f***ups from back then. Doubt he’d even remember that, but that’s a big reason I’m still here. I always tune in to what he’s got to say even though I disagree with his approach sometimes, and politics to a certain extent. I’m sure he’d have some choice words for me. But that’s why I stay away from that forum for the most part :).

So thanks big guy! Much respect over here.

I have a friend who helps me out. I dont want to give out any more information about it because it wouldnt be in the best interest of this site or Biotest if I did.

Friends are good to have.

Without getting into a lot of detail I doubt if many, even college students, have less money than we do to spend on food and we manage to eat really well. However, being in a house with a freezer and a kitchen removes a couple obstacles.

By really well I mean lots of healthy though not necessarily great tasting food. Until you buckle down and plan it doesn’t become clear that eating WELL is cheaper, by a lot than eating shit.

Before I got laid off the people I worked with spent most of what I did for a day on lunch alone. Planning ahead, weeks or even months ahead can save you a LOT of money. Again having a freezer really helps though. I have saved the money I spent on a freezer many times over already.

The bottom line is if you can afford to eat at all you can afford to eat enough of what you need to grow… period. It may mean sacrificing somewhere else, but guess what. You either want it or you don’t.

The stupid thing about it is I don’t know of any bodybuilders who seek out non bodybuilding sites so they can express their disapproval of the members goals.

However these guys are here to stay and as long as they have no other place to go we will be treated to new posts attempting to broaden the definition of bodybuilding to include anybody with an ab lounge. Or new posts telling us how pointless and idiotic bodybuilding is.

I just had one of them tell me I am degrading other people’s goals when THEY are the ones degrading everything that actually is related to bodybuilding. They can call bodybuilders stupid for having large legs, but God forbid someone tell them that rock-climbing and neck bridges for 3 minutes are NOT a bodybuilding activity.

I have never once decided to hop on Martha Stewart’s web site to tell the members how gay color coordinating your dish towels is. Yet they come here in droves to tell us that big muscles are “nasty”.

What the fuck is wrong with this picture?
Going back to the point about why people come here and criticise and denigrate bodybuilding…

I think it all comes down to jealousy, I really do. Anything requiring hard work, dedication and persistance is liable to jealousy of those not willing to invest in it, or the resulting tall poppy syndrome of those that have tried and failed.

By the same token, we as a community should never behave elitist. Our difference in priorities makes us simply different (albeit, rather more impressive physically).

How hard is it to colour coordinate your dish cloths in comparison to building a impressive physique? It requires nothing more than for one to be odd, impartial to pastels, and willing to spend money on that kind of thing. Then again, isn’t that the same attitude they feel about us?

Being human though, I can’t help but feel like we’re onto something a little more worthwhile…
“Fuck Martha Stewart. Martha’s polishing the brass on the Titanic. It’s all going down, man. So fuck off with your sofa units and Strinne green stripe patterns.”
