Guys I’ve been on a low carb diet and upped my fish oil intake to 30g. The first 2 weeks went by fine but then suddenly I had unbelievable anal oil leakage. I dropped the fish oil and it went away. Now I’ve been back at 20g and its started again…even though I’ve cut back on total fat intake.
Anybody else ever have this problem? Any thoughts? I’m confused as hell as to why this occurs…it gets mitigated a little bit (but still there) if I use digestive enzymes

Fish oil doesn’t cause gonorrhea!
In all seriousness, whats the rest of your diet look like and what other supps are you taking?
I’ve noticed this before. I supplement with fish oil (not FO just the entiric coated stuff from Walmart) to the tune of 7-10g a day and I occassionally get an oily ass crack. It seems to happen to me mainly when passing gas. Nothing messy but after a few hours I’ll wipe my ass and it’s dirty. You know something is up when this happens and you’ve previously taken a shower and not had a bowel movement, so you know you’re clean but your ass is still dirty.
Hahahaha. Fish oil does not cause gonnorhea. But, yes, it can cause DIARRHEA. It doesn’t happen to me even at high doses. But it affects some people that way.

If you were serious about using that word, then you should refrain from any further posting.
I’ve had this experience and heard of it from training partners. All of us are in perfect health as far as I know. In my case I had done a 3-week megadosing cycle which went fine, but started getting this anal leakage several days into another cycle, a couple of months later. It freaked me out and I googled hell out of it but couldn’t find a satisfying explanation.
Recently I heard someone say that you can reach a point of “saturation” with omega-3, where your body has nothing to do with the extras you are ingesting. I won’t vouch for the science but I don’t think I will go through a megadosing cycle ever again…
I have to take prescription Lovaza Fish Oil Caps for my very high triglycerides. I have to take four 900mg caps every day (EPA 465mg and dha 375mg). I too have had that anal leakage since I started taking these damn things. I could figure out why it was happening at first, but now seeing this forum, I’m sure it’s the fish oil that’s causing it. The only thing I can suggest to at least lighten this leakage is to buy the bread that is whole wheat and says DOUBLE FIBER on the package. The name brand is Oroweat. Eat a couple of slices a day and it should lighten up for you. As to making it stop? I’m in the same boat with you, buddy. Sorry.
Eat food/fiber with it. Its pretty simple. Either that or you arent assimilating it very well and it might be a digestive issue. I’m a pretty small guy, at 170 5’9", but have not had an issue with taking 20-30caps (1gram caps) per day as well as eating somewhere around 300g fats/day without leakage.
Ate some food with it, some veggies or something with a fiber supp with probably around 10 or so grams or fiber. IT shouldn’t be a stomach acid problem so my guess is you don’t have anything bound with the oil like fiber, which is surrounded by water and the digestive enzymes cant get to it since its not a ‘sauce’…
I’m in contest prep and take nowhere near that amount. If I have this straight, you’re getting 30 grams of fat from your omega oil? That’d be 2/3 of my daily fat content.
Anyone here take Kirland’s signature from costco? The total omega content (EPA + DHA) = 300mg, I take 2 of them three times a day. I remember reading that CT recommends one pill per percent of bodyfat, even though I’m under six it’s become my staple.
I am currently taking 20g, but I’m also in a heavy bulk with about300g of total fat, like I said. I’m taking it in case my joints need the help during the bulk.
Do you know the reasoning behind 1 pill (of fish oil or Flameout?) per percent body fat? or the link to the article?
