For all you foam rollers?
Can I just use the giant pieces of PVC pipe I have laying around, or does it have to be padded?
Oh, and WTF am I supposed to do? Roll it into mah muscles back and forth?
Going straight to PVC can be rough in the quads and IT band. Feels AWESOME on the back. I roll back and forth, slower on the tender stops. Once they stop being so tender, usually after a few days of rolling, I bust out the lacrosse ball on the IT band, calves, and quads.
Heard something about your not supposed to roll your erectors? Yea or Nay?
BEANS read mah post above, the PVC is gonna KILL (your legs not so much your back) the first time, .
Yeah, this kinda excites me. I’m sort of scared, in a “I’m about to touch mah first boobie” way. You know that funny taste you used to get in your mouth when you would fool around with a chick when you were a teen?
Do your quads and IT first and nice and slow, take your fucking time…it will feel sooooooooooo good, then post, then do your back. Try not to cry to hard.

I rolled very lightly with a can of foot spray…it hurt…

I can’t wait to do this!!

I use a lax ball now, the first time I nearly died, now it’s no big deal. I’ve used a lax ball, golf ball, and pressure point massage tools on my calves.

I woke up with a major calf cramp the next morning. Definitely walked bow-legged for a couple of days.
And I was a nice pregnant person…just dang tired all the time…I’ll be nice to you if you let me nap in other words
Seriously, the look on your face in your avi is anything BUT innocent! You look like you have something evil behind your back! Gonna call you Betty Page!
Not only did that hurt like a motherfucker, every time I laid down my dog jumped all over me. Apparently me laying on the ground is free reign to wrestle in a dog’s mind.

so yay or nay
I’ll try it again… But it certainly hurts like a mofo

When I was doing BBB pretty much everything was like that because you’re trying to stay in the rep range with limited rest so I ended up doing that for a few months. It ended up being like:
Squats
warm up then
315x10
275x10
225x10
185x10
135x10
with one minute rest between sets
Then I writhed on the floor trying not to puke
lots of fun :P, and it worked great while I was gaining weight fast but was too much volume otherwise
Dude that sounds fucking torturous. Jesus christ. No way on earth I would last with that strict of rest times, or that much volume… Hats off to ya.
That was actually the maximum volume in the program that only lasted a week, usually it would only be three sets with longer rest periods during the ‘cruise’ phase (which was the longer phase) then the ramps would crank the volume up to five sets and reduce the rest times.
It actually wouldn’t be so bad if you weren’t doing that 3 times a week :P. That program is definitely great when you’re gaining weight though, but it intentionally overtrains you and the leg sessions are fucking brutal.
