Also the person that maintains a 110% clean diet and burns out in 3 year won’t get as far the person that maintains a 90% clean diet for 10 years.

Cheat meals?

I eat whatever I want really, and just avoid anything retarded. Like the Snikers that is sitting on the lunch counter at work that genitally calls my name as I pour tuna on my plate… “Beans… Beans… EAT ME!”

Then I think about vagina because I’m a man, and go on about my day… Not having eaten the heathenish vile morsel.

EDIT: when I really diet, rather than just “damage control” this will change.

I do poorly when I take that approach, and I think at some point you’re going to have to be more regimented with your intake as well to gain if your goals are physique oriented unless you’ve got some crazy genetics. That will mean different things for every person.

My opinion anyways, I know the constant monitor of intake isn’t for everyone and the idea is somewhat taboo on this site, I just know that I do WAY better with this approach and that it’s worth it to me.

I have to be pretty regimented during the week because my cheat days get disgustingly indulgent (nutella!).

I’m curious (noob alert!) - can I use these cheat days to my advantage? Like should I lift after a cheat day, or on a day when I know I’m going to eat big? Will that build me muscles?

I heard you should just chill and let your body burn off the cals, but I’m afraid that while I do have a regimented diet, sometimes i end up over eating, eventho its mostly clean.

Here is the thing, I think the close monitoring is the absolute way to go… I mean if I were actually wanted to get into 10% range I would, and will at some point.

But right now, I know my body, and I know roughly what I’m eating. I know what I can get away with and when I can get away with it.

You gotta remember man, I’m 30… I don’t have the time left to fuck around anymore. If I get a bulk belly so be it. I don’t have time to fuck around and risk not getting bigger… (Plus I’m naturally a thinner person, shaq’s bones structure on someone a foot shorter.)

As for genetics, I’ll let you know in a few years :wink: But I’m not too worried.

To me that would support my thoughts of taking the diet more seriously. I also don’t mean dieting down constantly, I mean monitering your intake even when bulking to create the leanest gain possible, but still gaining of course (and yes fat is going to come anyways). It’s your call though, I know you’re a PX fan so I won’t push it :slight_smile:

To me it would make sense to pig out around your hardest day in the gym (lower body probably). Or maybe a weak bodypart.

But if you’re starving by the time that comes around you might just want to eat more during the rest of the week anyways, that would probably help you more imo.

I mean, not to be a doucher, but I don’t have to count calories to maintain a BF level I’m comfortable with. I just don’t. I never have had to, even when I didn’t lift. Just like I don’t have to balance my checkbook, or write out a budget. I can do that type shit in my head, and I can eat by feel (so far). If that changes, so be it…

And you have to also understand, at my fattest, I wasn’t close to fat. When it comes down to it, I’m 50lbs heavier at the same BF as when I started. I’m not about to change my approach now, ya know?

Now when I’m looking to get below 12-15%, I will probably have to. Fuck I’ll probably just pay Skip to do the thinking for me. (If I can get an opening.)
