I heard a funny story from an Elite lifter whose name I will not mention. The day before his wedding he was attempting a PR, for some reason he started hitting his head onto the bar while it was racked on the monolift… apparently he went alittle overboard and was really bleeding… he hit the PR but had to explain to all of his wedding guest why his head was all cut up and bruised!!!
never cut myself before a PR but have been bitch slapped in the back pretty good. and once I was wipped in the back with a belt… but my dumb ass training partner used the wrong end with the metal belt grips…i almost needed stitches

Real lifters don’t need to cut themselves, bleeding hemorrhoids is all they need!
Ah wtf dude, just when I started to forget that thread.
FUCK I’m supposed to squat tomorrow too.
UGH.
Hahaha sorry man, I didn’t know about that thread but I managed to find it. Don’t worry too much about them though, most of the time they’re not that horrible compared to some other injuries. Well, in my opinion at least but then again I’ve only had one very mild case.
I agree that it’s not a nice subject to think about though. I figured with all the self cutting and chipotle induced fecal bleeding in this thread it was pretty safe to bring it up.

lol, it’s all good man. I’m joking around
Yea me too. Well, mostly. I’m not joking when I say that I think there are worse things to worry about. There was a discussion about this on a swedish forum a while back and it’s pretty funny in a way. People are good at shrugging off all sorts of injuries but someone mention hemorrhoids and there’s panic. “I can tear a pec or a hammie? Well that’d suck but… Wait what, something can happen to MY ASS?! Nooooooooo WHY God WHY!!”

I am one of those people though. I’ll take a pulled glute over an exploding anus any day.

im pretty sure that the only reason people injure/cut themselves, is because of an accident they didnt mean to. than they notice how much it helps.
That’s so true! My first time was when I was trying a new bench PR and tore my pec and the bar slipped to crack my rib cage. I was so mad I immediately went to put 50 more lbs on the bar and lifted it.
2 days after I wanted to try doing something like that intentionally before my deadlift so I banged my head until I got a severe concussion then added 100 lbs to my PR.

I don’t see why it’s so emo. It’s not like I’m QQing about a breakup or something. I guess you guys don’t need to get very intense when you lift.
No, I get psyched up when I max. Otherwise, I just keep tight and push. If I want an adrenaline rush, I grab a pipe or a barbell and slam my forehead into it. Sometimes I bleed sometimes I don’t. If I have a partner sometimes they’ll slap me in the back of the head.
