I’ve seen that one before, but always good to watch again.
Funny thing is I never make a sound doing o-lifts, maybe a little “up” at the bottom of a heavy C&J, but not much more than that. Now a heavy deadlift, LOL, I can be vocal as hell getting it to lock out.
There is one guy at my gym, competitive BBer, he is the loudest I’ve ever heard, grunts, groans, sighs, the whole bit. If he hears anyone else making the slightest noise he’s all like “c’mon push it” LOL. Cracks me up every time.
Personally I don’t care about any noise in the gym, grunters, dropped weights, it’s not a library. True enough some people over do it, but I’m really too busy with my own shit to worry about them.
Grunting during o lifts would be completely acceptable. I’m surprised these guys don’t, as this is their time…only every 4 years.
Don’t get me wrong…there are times I’ve heard grunting and turned to see what’s going on and the guy’s doing something respectable, then that’s OK. Those guys usually save it for the last few reps anyway.
If someone grunts for each rep, and if you see that he does exactly 8 reps each set…you know it’s a show.

Grunting is completely avoidable if you are at all conscious. Just takes a little effort and multi-tasking.

LOL. Your high horse, watch out for the giant pile of shit when you jump off it.
Dude, I am totally conscious. I’m consciously more concerned with moving the weight in the way that works my muscles the best, NOT the noise that may or may not be coming out of my mouth.
I really don’t give a fuck if someone thinks it is rude. Those that think grunting in a fucking WEIGHT ROOM is inappropriate might want to find a new hobby.

You should start screaming at the top of your lungs. I bet that would ensure you can complete each rep.
Maybe I should start barking during each rep.

Would that stop your whining?
Fuck no, it would annoy the stupid ass all-rep grunters. I’d feel bad for the innocent people, though.

Yup I got some decent earbuds yesterday. Grunter wasn’t in the gym yesterday, so we’ll see how it goes next time we’re in there together.
