Deborah 13. Documentary following girl from a heavily indoctrinated Christian family in rural England. Home schooled and little to no interation with people outside her own family.

Interesting and comedic at times. Can’t help but feel sorry for her. The last scene was just kinda fucked up.
Yeah I made it 7 seconds into that then saw “the perfect vagina” documentary and got distracted.

EDIT: Four minutes in and I think they’re going to break the record for saying genitals, vagina, fanny etc…

EDIT2: ahhhh man…12 minutes in, tread carefully.
That was actually a good docu.

It’s true about women’s self image. The media and stupid male opinions (like the 2 dumbfuck painters in the film) seem to distort the perception of what’s normal in a woman’s genitalia.

I find the sheer variety of sizes, shapes, and colors of women’s genitals fascinating.
Did we all watch that?

I felt kinda bad when the chick got her vag sliced up and was all crying and shit when it looked pretty okay to me in the first place.

But what really freaked me out was when the surgeon picked up the pieces of her labia and stretched them to demonstrate the elasticity.

That was fucked up.
I agree… she looked just fine before surgery.

God, the shit women go through in the name of vanity.
yeah I’m with you two.

On The Immortals…cool flick but I don’t know why they called it The Immortals…SPOILER ALERT BELOW…

XXXXXXXXXXeverybody dies…wtf is immortal about that

Jack Ass 3. They just get better.

Watched one called “Perfect Sense” the other day. Almost gets billed as a horror, and although elements of it are terrifying enough, it’s pretty much a love story. Premise is that, one after the other, people lose their ability to smell, taste, hear, etc, each with a harbinger which premiditates it. In the midst of all this happening, a chef (Ewan MacGregor) and a scientist (Eva Green) attempt to maintain a relationship, with one another, whilst trying to find a way to cope with the ailments which have befallen them. Quite enjoyed it- performances were top notch, and the story unfolds well; it manages to paint a very unsettling picture of a complete breakdown of normal society, and parts really tug at the heartstrings. I’ll even admit to getting a little choked up right near the end. Excellent idea turned into a good film- not brilliant, but certainly shouldn’t be one to pass on.

Saw Drive the other night. Great movie until the ending. That was a bullshit ending. Like Hanna. Hate movies like that.

Aye I enjoyed this as well. I did however expect them to lose their sense of touch, which really made me realise how utterly bleak existence would be without the senses. It would actually not be existence; no sound, sight, feeling, taste, smell. All you would have is thought. A difficult and terrifying thing to imagine.

Watched “Dream House.”

I don’t know how you mess up a movie with a cast like this, but apparently it can be done.

(SPOILER)
This movie went from horror (briefly) to psychological drama to OMG I remember now you killed my family so I’m going to go Harrison Ford in the Fugitive on your ass and then write a book about it…if that makes any sense. Bad movie.

It’s a low budget flick starring the incredibly sexy Shera Bechard. She plays an incredibly sexy mute girl looking for those who killed her sister. The executions are fantastic. When she identifies a target she saddles up to them all sweet and innocent, friendly flirting then BAM! somebody gets skullfucked with steak knife. No reliance on Waif-Fu, just really smart ways killing people. Not every execution goes according to plan, and she does get a couple beat downs in the film.

This is a low budget film. No big SFX. Somebody kept forgetting to clean one of the camera’s lens, so for part of the film I thought I had some dead pixels on my TV. The story has a sequential and logical unfolding, which is a rare charm with such small films. Overall I liked it and recommend it.

I didn’t like the ending at first but after I thought about it I loved it. Think about it, it makes perfect sense.

I’m planning on picking up the film over the weekend- heard so many good things about it.
Watched “The Woman” earlier. Film is fucked up- mysogyny at its finest- but it’s actually very good. The chick who plays the woman is excellent, and the Father should go down as one of the most obnoxious, hateful characters in film history.

For those who don’t know, the plot follows a man and his family as they capture a feral woman, with the intention of ‘civilizing’ her. Shit all starts to unravel after that when you begin to get an insight into the family’s life, and the conflicts which emerge regarding the imprisonment of the woman. If you’ve got a strong stomach, give it a watch.

Plan on watching “Kill List” later, as I’ve heard it being described as top-rate Brit-horror. Given how well us British tend to do horror (28-Days Later, The Descent, etc.) I’m really looking forward to seeing it.

On the cards for the rest of my week will be: “Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy”, “A Lonely Place To Die”, “Troll Hunter” and “The Guard.” It’ll be a good weekend!

The Guard is awesome. Do yourself a favor and steer clear of Troll Hunter.

Going to see The Grey later tonight.

Whaaaa!? Just finished watching, I really enjoyed it!! Nice take on the found-footage genre, and I liked the way they attempted to put scientific reasonings behind elements of troll folklore (why they turn to stone, etc.) Different strokes, I guess…

“Kill List” is one to watch. Ending was a shocker- my jaw literally just dropped.

The Grey- decent movie, not what I thought it was going to be about, but good.

Moneyball- pretty entertaining movie

Defending Your Life- from 1993 or so. Good funny movie

Documentary on Cancer, forget the name of it, included a teenager that was going around the country interviewing people about the dangers of mercury fillings, MSG, etc.

Nightmare On Elm Street (2010);
Didn’t finish watching. Shit from the outset

x2

Underworld Awakening: quick fast and just simple entertainment, Beckinsale in leather

Cowboys and Aliens: okay saw it after Underworld so was in the right frame of mind.

Super 8: as an old guy I really enjoyed this 80’s feel throwback movie.

Still have to watch new Apes.

The blockbuster in our town is closing so I bought all three on blue ray for $15 a piece.

Woody Allen’s “Midnight In Paris”.

Unexpectedly VERY good. Plus, Rachel McAdams is in it (albeit her character is a controlling bitch).

Makes sense, but still sucks.

Watched this weekend:

The Thing (2011) loved it.

The Dirty Dozen (Lee Marvin is the fucking MAN!!)

Caught this on Netflix the dvd cover peeked my interest when I saw it about 6months ago and I finally got a chance to watch it. Very mcuh a speghetti western/martial arts flick with a Sin City type 3d feel. Strange but interesting flick it takes a little to get into but once you do I enjoyed it.

Kevin cant see video at work.

What is the name?

^ Bunraku.

36 aka 36th Precinct - Gerard Depardieu plays a corrupt cop who evades prosecution for his misdeeds by exposing a rival for unwittingly helping his informant to murder the man who put him in prison.

Thanks Roy, I actually watched Bunraku a few weeks ago.

Depardieu is still acting?
