Prof X, finally got round to watching Riddick again and have to say if you hadn’t have pointed out the extra scene (vision sequence on the stolen ship) I wouldn’t have been any wiser. I thought I remembered the blonde Furyan walking into the sunlight after their chat in the cut version though? Could be wrong though as it’s been a long while since I’ve seen it.
I actually enjoyed it more this time round than I did the first! Looking forward to the next installment.

You should check out Kill List too ID. Similar, and although it does have a couple of brutal bits and not quite the clean finish that Last Exorcism has it’s a very unnerving film.
50/50 - Excellent movie, a tear jerker for sure, Gordon-Levitt is a great actor and really underrated and Seth Rogen is funny as usual.
Ides of March - Not into political movies but since Im a fan of Gosselin, Hoffman and Clooney I gave it a try, pretty fucking good def worth a watch
Money Ball - Ehh it was OK, I think if the A’s actually won that year it would have been more satisfying, Phillip Seymur Hoffman as Art Howe was pretty cool though.
The Grey - Saw this yesterday, I enjoyed it, a survival thriller with a twist a gang of fucking wolves that are pissed that these dudes are in their territory. Liam Neeson is like dog shit these days, not only was he in this movie but he was in two of the previews’ movies as well. Some didnt like the ending, I thought it was perfect.

Hey ID, have you seen “The Exorcism of Emily Rose”?
I thought it was an outstanding movie…DEFINITELY not what I expected! Without going into too much detail, it combines two genres of film that, to the best of my knowledge, had never been combined before or since…

[Chronicles of Riddick spoilers]
The Purifier (blonde Furyan) was in the theatrical cut. David Twohy and Vin Diesel initially seemed to be pushing Riddick and The Purifier as the last of their kind, with the implication that Furyans had an inherent resistance to the Necromongers’ conversion process (hence The Purifier not being able to reverse his conversion, but he could suppress it long enough to help Riddick).
When The Purifier killed himself on Crematoria (he became a Necromonger after being given the choice between conversion and death) Riddick automatically became the only person capable of challenging The Lord Marshall and winning leadership without becoming a ‘replacement’ (the conversion process seems to dominate a person’s personality, so a ‘normal’ successor would just continue on where The Lord Marshall left off).
However, it turns out that Riddick is not the only surviving Furyan. The Necromongers attacked Furya after an Elemental told a young Necromonger soldier called Zhylaw (or The Lord Marshall as he’s called in CoR) that he would die at the hands of a Furyan male; Zhylaw attempted to avert the prophecy by invading Furya and killing all the infant males (very biblical!).
Zhylaw personally tried to murder the infant Riddick by strangling him with his own umbilical cord. He failed, and as happens in all good prophecies, Zhylaw set in motion the events which lead to his death…so Riddick was destined to be leader of the Necromongers (and maybe stop them in the sequel), it wasn’t just a case of him being the last Furyan left and any one of them could have done the same - as it’s suggested in the theatrical cut.

x2 definitely worth the watch IMO.
Paranormal Activity 3 - I honestly wasn’t expecting this to be very good because the 2nd was alright but it was decent. There was an unexpected twist at the end that I enjoyed. A 4th is scheduled to release this October that I might have to catch with my lady friend.
American Loser - I think it’s a Sundance film, I enjoy these. Rated R comedy with Sean William Scott but it wasn’t a raunchy movie like I was expecting and it has an ending that really goes against the norm which is a relief. Movies are too predictable these days.
Buried - Seriously the entire movie was shot in a fricking box. I honestly got this as more of a joke thinking it was going to be horrible but it was much better than I thought. Obviously being buried alive is a big fear to most.
Deborah 13. Documentary following girl from a heavily indoctrinated Christian family in rural England. Home schooled and little to no interation with people outside her own family.
Interesting and comedic at times. Can’t help but feel sorry for her. The last scene was just kinda fucked up.
Yeah I made it 7 seconds into that then saw “the perfect vagina” documentary and got distracted.
EDIT: Four minutes in and I think they’re going to break the record for saying genitals, vagina, fanny etc…
EDIT2: ahhhh man…12 minutes in, tread carefully.
That was actually a good docu.
It’s true about women’s self image. The media and stupid male opinions (like the 2 dumbfuck painters in the film) seem to distort the perception of what’s normal in a woman’s genitalia.
I find the sheer variety of sizes, shapes, and colors of women’s genitals fascinating.
Did we all watch that?
I felt kinda bad when the chick got her vag sliced up and was all crying and shit when it looked pretty okay to me in the first place.
But what really freaked me out was when the surgeon picked up the pieces of her labia and stretched them to demonstrate the elasticity.

I liked it quite a bit.
The ending was rather heavy-handed, however. SPOILER? The fact that ‘real people’ were involved made it much less scary.

I agree… she looked just fine before surgery.
God, the shit women go through in the name of vanity.
Went and saw The Immortals last week. That was a fun movie. I believe they picked the right actor for Superman in Henry Cavill. Dude definitely looks the part. And Frida Pinto…the things I would do to that woman!
