Real shame about Aramnau, I remember last year he was under investigation for doping, dunno if it’s the same this time.
Anyone know why Klokov didnt compete? I was also pretty upset about Chigishev as he’s one of my favourite lifters. Hope he’s ok for the worlds/olympics

On eurosport the 105+ was listed as 105kg with 75kg women rather than the 105+ and 75+. Didn’t miss much tbh, the commentators said it was the lowest winning total for the supers since the weight categories were established.
Akkaev’s snatch was immense! And his clean and jerks weren’t half bad either

Lots of politics witht he Russian weightlifting federation so thats why Klokov didn’t go. They prefer Chigs.

why would they prefer chigishev over Klokov? their not even in the same category, they just didn’t send Klokov because they new that they would win that class no matter who competed (second place only did 400kgs) so why send 2 of your “big guns”, their simply saving Klokov for worlds, or the Olympics.
on another note, if you recorded most of the session, could you post the best lifts please?
Also Klokov’s dad either is still or definitely used to be Chairman of the Russian WL Fed, if he still is it seems doubtful that they wouldn’t send him.
