Escalation in Israel

More correctly, Hamas knows exactly what will happen when it: (1) intentionally locates its missile batteries on hospitals, schools, kids playing soccer on the beach or childcare facilities; (2) forces the civilians not to leave so as to act as human shields, even after Israel warns them (by calling every cell phone in the strike area) that an attack is coming.

Um, to “not in the building that is to be bombed”?

We have things called “doors” here in the middle east. What you do is you walk (or run, perhaps) to the door; open it with the “door handle” (it’s a metal thing opposite the hinges); the go out the door and run a distance away from the target.

I know that kind of thing might be a hard topic for you.
Why? so the can die or starvation and die slowly later? the conditions in Gaza are so bad due to the blockade where Israel stops food, medicine, water, power etc that its not worth living - Gaza is the world’s largest prizon

not everyone in Gaza is firing rockets, certainly not the children or the disabled people resting in their homes
And Israel drops leaflets, makes calls and tells the people what is being targeted and when. Israel is giving the innocents the chance to get out of harms way.
Further, they can identify themselves as innocents and not be harmed. I really don’t know what else they can do. They are trying to minimize civilian casualties as much as possible, but if you have hamas hiding behind people and those people complicit in hamas’s actions, there is not much Israel can do. They have to eliminate the threat. They have the right to protect themselves and if, after all the warnings they choose to stay in harm’s way, then bad things will happen.
If somebody says ‘leave because we’re going to blow your house up’ I am leaving. I may not like it. I may be mad about it, but I ain’t sticking around. Hamas uses human shields, that’s not Israel’s fault. They’ve done what the can about it, but in the end they have to solve the problem and I don’t blame them.

Imagine what the U.S. would do to a country who fired thousands of rockets at civilians? Imagine what we would demand we do. Any country would do the same.

Gerrard, what is your idea, what should Israel do then?

the reason we have a problem in Gaza today is because Israel is in violation of international law and Un resolutions, there will never be a military solution to this conflict-

 1. stop the killing
 2. stop the blockade
 3. stop stealing land by building settlements
 4. respect international law on the Palestinian people’s right to self determination,
Okay, then the most important question. Will it give peace? I have my doubts about that. Bugger, i bought a pad and this is really awkward to use. Ive lost my writing twce already. I must switch.t.
We can agree on that. What about Israels reservations? Are you convinced this straight path would bring peace? I’m not, that Hamas would lower it’s weapons and start building a functioning society. y.

Who gives a shit? There are plenty of cities in AMERICA where you can’t find healthy food at a good price. You are grasping at straws.

About the same as anywhere.

There’s a nice Wal-Mart Supercenter in Gaza that generally has everything you would expect at a Wal-Mart Supercenter, at the “same great prices.” I’ve shopped there a few times.

You know, because Gaza’s a “prison”

Incidentally, Wal-Mart extracted promises that the store would not be harmed by either side. (Yes, Wal-Mart is that powerful.)

This is the simplest problem in the world to solve. Palestine must renounce violence and acknowledge Israel’s right to exist. That’s it. If they do that very simple thing, there will be peace between them. More than that, prosperity.
How do people not know that the end game is the destruction of Israel? It’s declared from rooftops, it’s the public stance of groups like hamas.

Well, the Palestinians ELECTED Hamas, so they OBVIOUSLY support them and their terrorist activity. It’s not like Hamas “took over”. They were ELECTED…

I think you hate Jews. That must be it. Do you support hamas’s right to kill as many Jews as possible?

I am dumbfounded by the (what I can only pray is purposeful) ignorance in this thread. One guy accusing Jewbacca of embarrassing himself after he was stupid enough to say Gaza is starving. Pitt suggesting Israel fix the infrastructure that the dumbshits blew up themselves, and that would make it better.

Turn off water, turn off electricity, feed a really poor diet, starting to sound familiar

I find it ironic the definition of

Se·mit·ic
səˈmitik/
adjective
adjective: Semitic

1.
relating to or denoting a family of languages that includes Hebrew, Arabic, and Aramaic and certain ancient languages such as Phoenician and Akkadian, constituting the main subgroup of the Afro-Asiatic family.
2.
relating to the peoples who speak the Semitic languages, especially Hebrew and Arabic.

the the definition of antisemitic

anti-Semitism. discrimination against or prejudice or hostility toward Jews.

when you add anti to Semitic they forget about all the other Arabs

IMO Israels is being Anti Semitic

Have you been reading the thread or just pulling things out of your ass? You are aware that the Palestinians blew up the powerplant? Or do you not believe that because it came from a non-Palestinian (not Israeli either mind you) source? I mean if the Palestinian Times didn’t report it then it must not be true?

this might happen if Israel treated Palestine like an equal. There is a transition that must happen
