Eric,
I just say the pics of you squatting with/without heels on your shoes.
I’m not sure if you commented on it anywhere (I’ve been away for a few weeks) so I was wondering what your thoughts on it are. Which do you prefer? and why?
Thanks.

eric,
my reading of the posts on the pics and the tendo unit readings is that, although the heels put you in a marginally better position (more upright torso), your squat without heels was a little bit faster (.27 vs .25 m/s).
How are you deciding which is best?
We are reserving judgment for the meet. However, since the adiStars move my strength curve up I think that they put me in a better position to finish the maximal attempts. We will know on August 22nd.

Hi Eric,
I am very new to lifting and I wish to eventually compete in raw powerlifting. I am curious what you would recommend regarding equipment for the knees (for squats). Should I use knee sleeves or knee wraps? Are knee wraps even legal in raw competitions?
Thanks for sharing your log and your amazing videos! Best of luck in your upcoming competition.

Hello Matt.
Thank you for the kind words regarding my log and training videos. I am glad that you like them.
Knee wraps are legal in many federations but not all of them. It would probably be in your best interest to see which federations are active in your area and then find out the rules of said federations.
If you let me know where you plan on competing then I may be able to help. I would also suggest that you check out www.powerliftingwatch.com because it is a great resource for powerlifters. It has links to all of the competitions in the United States, the rules of each federation, etc.
Best of luck to you and if you have any additional questions do not hesitate to contact me on the Elitefts.com Q&A.
Eric

Thanks so much for the reply Eric.
I am in Wisconsin and would compete anywhere in the Midwest as I see there aren’t a lot of competitions in Wisconsin. Illinois would be a lot more convenient for me than anywhere else out of state.
Truth is, I’m probably 2 years away from competing.
Thanks!
