I 've got dozens of deep scars on my upper arms and legs from when I used to cut myself as a teenager. I think alot more guys do it than people think, and it isn’t about attention. I never let anyone see any of my cuts. I’d have been embarrased if they had. Sure, everyone knows about them now since I don’t bother trying to hide them. If someone asks about them I usually just shrug dimissively and say I got into a fight with some ninjas a few years back or something.

And to liken cutting to body building and powerlifting? Really? I’ll admit that the extremes may not be beneficial to long term healthy, but the majority of users on this website (and the world for that matter) who participate in some sort of weight lifting are IMPROVING their health. Even the “moderate” cutters are literally maiming themselves. For what? The sake of some form of perverted “art”? Fuck off. I don’t buy it.
