Emily's About-Time Training Log

Yeah, but I’ll bet she watches it super good. Like, if that news steps out of line, Right back in place!!!

In brighter news, and back on topic, I have determined that I am no sorer today, after three consecutive lifting days, than I generally am after one. Good information! I’ve spent some time stretching this morning, and that’s helped. I’m hoping that I can stick to the work days lifting (although the dog’s bum leg allows more time to focus on myself, so I guess that will change when/if it heals and he needs before-work walks).

@ChickenLittle thanks. Yeah, it’s devastating, and it’s hard to see how it can happen and then reverse and allow her to be her regular sweet self again. Seems like the kind of cognitive shift that stays.

CG Max day 49/50 - static lunge, arnold press, staggered RDL, pushups, banded hip thrust, rear delt fly - with 5 minute cardio warmup (I do this rather than treadmill or rower for its dynamic stretch) and fairly long yoga/stretch session after.

I was SO reluctant to start this, and then loved every minute of it. But I cleaned house while I was procrastinating, so now that’s done and everything is nice.

Louie is on the bench for the time being. He got super offended when the vet was probing his leg yesterday and went from rumbly to outright snarling (no bared teeth, tho) and wouldn’t relax enough for her to really get in and feel around, so we’re holding him to the yard (but 2.5 acres) and he’s on NSAIDS for the next couple of weeks. After that we may have to anesthetize him for ex-rays and a possible fix. The fear is a ruptured cruciate ligament.

During the diagnostic interview we were asked “is he a knucklehead?” And we were forced to admit that yes, yes he is. She said “I thought so.” This was his first annual exam, he hasn’t needed to go in since the initial visit last year. We’re coming up on our one year anniversary with him. He’s such a good, good boy. How did I ever live without him before? :face_holding_back_tears:

Atta Boy!!! :hugs:.

My puppy wuppy did something similar to that ligament when she would bronko spin. The nsaids relieved the pain and inflammation, and she healed up very good without any intervention. Hope that Louie does too.

That’s encouraging! Louie doesn’t want surgery. He likes the forest, not the bench.

CG Max R2 day 50/50 - ab work, lateral raise, sissy and heel elevated squat, cobra pushups, curls - with 5 minute cardio warmup and stretching after. I did not enjoy today’s workout, whether because it’s my 5th this week or because it objectively sucked (lots of bodyweight stuff, which I don’t like because you have to do millions of them rather than a reasonable number of slow, controlled lifts). But anyway, that’s the program!

I’m still trying to decide what next, which may wind up being another round of it. We’ll see.
