I did the sprints. Maybe Buttons is not the goodest girl ever - maybe I am! lol

I just counted the weeks since the start of the challenge and calculated that I’m losing an average of .8/wk. I’m pretty excited about it. Things have definitely accelerated as I’ve moved along. Super pleased.

April 15
Weight is up again because I ate like an asshole after a steep uphill/ascent hike yesterday - and then for the entire rest of the day. Should have had a protein drink.

Worked upper body and chest this morning. Things continue to go very well, aside from that I had a chocolate peanut butter shake this morning and keep burping up the peanut butter flavor, which is grossing me out. To the garbage that stuff goes.

Remember that Brown Bear weight loss log a while back, where the dude was losing a ton of weight, but it was sort of a saw tooth pattern downward?

I think thats a thing. Its like homeostasis giving one final gasp before the next plunge.

Not that you didn’t eat what you ate, just that its not a linear process.

Had to look it up. I think I’ll survive myself, haha. “Asshole” for me in this context doesn’t have a great deal of power. More just an expression.

I know. Doesn’t mean I have to like it! I also realize that I didn’t eat the 10,500 calories extra I’d have needed to to genuinely gain 3lbs. Still! I don’t like it.

I’m okay with sawtoothing up 1-1.5 lbs, not going back into a decade I’d left behind. So…that’s it! Unacceptable.

April 16
We went back to the same hiking place yesterday as the day before because a lot of the mountains around us still have some snow, which we want to avoid. So we took a different trail towards the summit, but it started raining somewhat heavily at just under a mile. We milled around in confusion for a bit and then turned around. I was sad to abort.

Today legs and back, KB swings, 15 min TM LISS.

I had a similar discussion the other day. I told somebody that I AM an asshole, but a pretty damn responsible asshole! :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Hanging in there. Not sure I will make my goal by the of the challenge. Down to 129lbs last Thursday. We’ll see.

Weight 150.4 I forgot to pick up a box of pre-cooked chicken this week, and I think it’s had a big impact. I’ve been getting into almonds and other less-optimal choices when I’m hungry at night.

Arms and chest today.
I moved from DB chest presses to flies, but on the first rep accidentally pressed - and then sort of switched mid-move, which made a scary armpit pull/pain. I got control of the weight and the rest of it was fine, but man, it’s just the worst feeling to think “oh shit I just pulled/popped/screwed something up that’s going to take ETERNITY to recover.” So I’m feeling grateful on that score.

The snow is melted with the exception of the driveway plow pile, so it’s the annual post-winter poop cleanup. And maybe a hike, hopefully.

What a great day! Workout felt so good and easy, not sure why. I was just going to do arms, chest, shoulders today, but decided to go full body and sleep in tomorrow instead of getting up for back and legs. Added either reps or weight to most of the lifts.

Also pretty great is that yesterday’s steep hike didn’t result in any DOMS today, which I expected to have. Last time we did this trail I definitely had sore muscles following, but this time not at all.

I can’t remember what I did Saturday…oh wait, I do remember - there were a couple of walks. Oh! And a day completely off of the cut! Went to breakfast at the my favorite place and had an omelette with potatoes and english muffin, then dinner was linguini with marinara and sausage, topped with parm, with bread and wine. Yum!

I think it’s time to start adding calories, take a break from the cut, then reassess in June.

Yesterday - it snowed on us! Nothing that stuck, but still, I had to wear my serious mittens. Unacceptable.

April 26.
Weight 149.8
Full body workout today. I was going to split upper and lower, but my birthday is Sunday and I’ve unexpectedly got a girls night tonight. There’s a chance I’ll be hungover in the morning, so I thought I’d do it all today. So like an hour and a half including some LISS. Yesterday was a rest day and I did 30 min TM LISS Wednesday and Tuesday, KB swings one of those days.

I stopped on my way home from work yesterday to get some 2.5 lb weights to put on my adjustable DBs (I’ll need more weight in like two weeks and need to figure out what to do) along with food for tonight’s party. Tomorrow evening company comes (dinner out, probably more drinks) and then Sunday all the kids are here for a taco feast (fancy and regular) and hopefully outdoor play; badminton or kickball or some such.

I’m viewing it as a nice refeed before the big May challenge push. :smiley:

I do have a touch of hangover today, which is complicated by DOMS from yesterday’s workout. I’m getting ready to take a walk. I have to get active-recovered, because more fun starts at 4:00 today and continues through tomorrow evening, at which point I will go to bed full of ice cream and cake and other excesses.

A micro-bulk, is how I’m viewing it.

Had my mini-bulk, which resulted in an absolutely miserable inflammatory response, which came on top of the lower body DOMS buying and adding weight caused. I slept poorly Sunday night - day of the bacchanalia - and wanted to blow off yesterday’s workout, but managed to cowboy up and get arms, chest and shoulders done. Wanted to blow off going for a hike, too, and didn’t. The hike was 10/10, a beautiful, cool, sunny afternoon. So glad I went.

Feeling a little residual inflammation today, but nothing too bad. Spent 30 minutes walking on the TM.

My plan for May is to be ON TASK and really lean into clean eating preparatory to the challenge finish and bloodwork at the end of the month.

Yesterday started a full body light strength workout video, but had to abort when I got to legs because I tweaked something over the weekend and it really protested when I started in on lower body. Spent the rest of the available time walking on the TM.

Today did TM sprints followed by a short, easy run. Felt GOOD. I don’t know why I love that motion so much.

Putting my hair up beforehand this morning I spotted tricep definition. Pretty happy-making!
