Emily's About-Time Training Log

That makes sense! Maybe they have more brown fat which is the metabolicly active type. Very cool!

I need to do this with everything (starting with cold dog walks). Finding the advantage in every difficult situation or annoyance would be huge. It’d definitely stifle complaining.

I have a shower that never gets hot. Mostly it just gets tepid. So I count that as a daily icy plunge. :joy:

You’d think that, but I believe a quick review of my log would suggest otherwise when it comes to walk reports!

Which means you’re more metabolically active than the losers with hot water!

On the bright side, my skin is not nearly as dry this winter as it normally is.

Maybe 1.75 mile hike in 2-3" of fresh powder. It was snowing pretty heavily and was really magical at the beginning, but as we turned around the threatened wind/temp drop started coming in, and it was pretty bitter. The lovely snow turned into pellets of ice hitting my face. It’s 8° currently, probably 12° when we started out. It’ll be too cold for me to get out over the next couple of days, but then it’s scheduled to warm up to 30° on Tuesday - a veritable heat wave.

Go brown fat, go!

I’m continuing the decrease in reta, dosing 5 mg now at 8-9 day intervals. I probably have one week’s worth left. So far no change in appetite - I’ve had hungry days all along depending on activity, and weight remains steady without much perceived effort. Tomorrow I’ll eat like an asshole, probably, but I’ll right the ship on Monday and move on. Seems like I can manage things with 2-4 asshole days a month.

CG Max day 34/50 - sumo squats, rows, lunges, hammer press, stability ball rollouts, pushups - with 15 min/1 mile cardio and KB swing warmup. Phone kept blinking out/disconnecting, which was frustrating because I had to keep finding my place, but other than that, meh, it’s done.

I accidentally ate like an asshole yesterday because husband decided to plow the driveway before dinner and I was starving. Had a hunk of cold chicken, had some grapes, then settled in with chocolate covered almonds and the television and happily forgot about dinner until after he’d come back in and showered.

And then I had more grapes after dinner and then some ice cream. :grimacing:

Take a moment and appreciate how your “eating like an a-hole” is most people’s goals.

You’re in a good place.

I guess you’re right. I certainly feel good! And boy was I happy with those chocolate covered almonds and my snuggly dog while my loved one plowed on a 4X4 in the -8° or whatever.

My goal for the day. I have not had a bite of anything sweet (dessert… cake cookies pie) since Feb 1. I phrased it that way so it sounds more impressive than “this week”. I even turned down dessert at the BBQ joint yesterday when we met some friends for lunch :sob: if we would have went to the other place the pecan cobbler would have definitely won the war.

It certainly DOES sound impressive!

To clarify, my own scheduled asshole eating for today will move forward as planned despite yesterdays surprise eating events.

@EmilyQ , I need to inform you that this sentence does NOT mean what you think it means.

Didn’t weigh

CG Max day 35/50 - abs, around the world, bulgarian lunges, rotational curl, tricep extension, cobra pushups - with 15 minute/1 mile cardio warmup. The ab work felt very stomach-flu-y to me, whether because my abs suck or because of all the asshole eating  over the weekend, who knows.

Luckily, I plowed through all of the bad food of interest to me yesterday and am very happily back on the squeaky-clean wagon today. We should have relief from the sub-zero temps tomorrow, which I’m looking forward to.
